So, yesterdays progress was thwarted by heavy rains.....that and somehow i managed to get home with two different wheel spacer/adapters. One took the toy wheel, and of course i had the other one bolted and torqued before i took notice. Fxxxing lol.

On the plus side, i did sell a mini front SA housing for 80$ and this...lol

Did you ever see the Mythbusters show where they dimpled a car like a golf ball to see if it had any affect on aerodynamics and MPG? They used clay but it kinda looks the same. And for the record the car showed noticeable gains in MPG...it was just ugly as sin.

Did some stuff.

Truck had been leaning a bit.
Ended up taking my rear spring to Bergmann's shop to get straitened. ($70)
After installing it, it still leaned. Swapped sides, still leaned.
Swapped right front main and second leaf.
Found grenaded bushings. Swapped those and my rear shackle hanger bushings with poly.
Replaced my nylock nuts with stover lock nuts.

Finally added a wiper washer bottle. Wired up the rear wiper and washer.

Spent the last few days "fitting" and installing a used "bolt in " cage.
Found out that the stock rollbar can make an impromotu tube bender...

Had to modify the rear hoop so the rear seats could still fold. Where the feet hit was way too narrow, and the hoop was too wide to actually fit under the cab. Basically what i did was weld in, the bolt in sleeves that i replaced with longer pieces of 1.5 pipe.

Does that mean you'll be posting videos of you tear-assing in the snow again??:steer:

So this last season i started noticing an issue in my steering. At timrs it would feel like it was binding, like no assist. Which is a scary feeling with hydraulic assist.

So long story short, i tore the box out and found some balls had somehow come out of the screw and ended up in the piston.

This is a place you dont want to be ..lol

Ill get a pic of the piston, but you get the idea looking at the screw.

So i have a reall good system for reinstslling the 44 balls back into the assembly now. Had a couple hours practice. Lol.
The only thing i can think is maybe when i originally rebuilt the box, i let tbe piston down to far and balls fell out. Either that, or just abuse, although i try to be good not trying to over steer the axle with the ram. :meh:

Anyway i haven't reshaken it down yet but it works in the driveway :flipoff2:

That looks....ummmmm..... fun. lol

I hate it when my balls fall below my piston. I've realized it's just kinda a byproduct of old age though.

^^^ It's a status symbol dude! How's it hangin'..?
