Would like to try black balsam when it's not freezing .
Lol if I make it I still plan on bringing cold weather bags. I have had too many bad experiences. I hope the wind is not as bad.

Well, sons a b. You updated the title, but not the first post in the thread. I got all giddy when I saw GMP... But I suppose it's not there. ohs well, I'll be there the week before this ride anyway. We'll see if I can make this here Expo run. I maybe can. It will be the 4th weekend in a row for wheeling, so we'll see how the pocket book is the week-of...
I'm not too sure I've missed an OTMT.
I agree with Eric, you should update the info on the first post. It's confusing to first-time clickers, they have to read the whole thread to know what's really going on.

Sorry about that, been traveling a ton lately and got behind on this.

Time to get the cot tent out and propped. Need a tent fan for at night. I assume the only chance for cool weather will be up at black balsam?

Thursday we are camping on the Chattooga river. I won't be blazing but won't be cold but where we will be you can swim in the river which is really nice.
Friday at Cullowhee the campsite is in total shade tucked back next to a nice size stream I've camped there all times of the year and never had an issue with heat.
Black balsam. I spent all last week in the mountains. Here it was close to 100. There at our elevation it was low 80's during the day and high 50's at night.

Im sorry but I busy decide between this and overland expo. Getting close on vacation days and trying to hammer out some details. Besides your the one who brings everything but the kitchen sink.

This sounds awesome and we are planning to join. Not sure if we'll pull the kids out of school or join Friday. As we get closer, can we get a map up in case we need to join along the way.

well lightning run into the house and fried my AC. Pending if insurance covers it or if my wallet does decides whether or not i make the trip now.
Insurance should cover it, minus the deductable.

Yeah contacted them today. Waiting on adjuster then I am replacing the unit.
