DANG! I had a real question, and now I can not remember it. DANG! Once I remember it, I'll come back and post

Will there be any chance to buy fuel during the trip? Know black balsam like the back of my hand but unfamiliar with everything else.

Google Maps

If we stay at Sugar Creek Gap campsite, that's right ^^^^. It's not far from Hwy 281, but it wouldn't hurt to bring a 5gal can. It's been a really long time since I looked at maps of the area. Had to take a minute to reacquaint myself with the roads. The satellite imagery looks to be updated since I last looked it up and everything is flush and green making it harder to pick out the trails and campsites. The old satellite imagery was from winter time and was easier to see things.

There is a gas station a few miles from thursday nights camping spot on 76. Friday there is a gas station right off 107 we will pass on 107 befor going into camp friday night. I doubt you will need any gas after that.

Where and what time will the caravan be leaving?

You're not invited :flipoff2:.

But, seriously, we'll have some details up this week. Trying to finalize now.

Think in going to try the cot tent this time.

No details yet but most likely we will leave around lunch from greenville on Thursday. People can meet us at the Hwy 76 brige parking lot on the South carolina side on the georgia South carolina state line at 2. I'll give GPS coordinates closer to the trip so people can find their way in after hours. I wont finalize the route for friday until a couple weeks prior so I can go scout the area and work up times on the trails. If your coming friday to meet up you will meet us at the gas station where caney fork rd and hwy 107 intersects. Friday around 5pm. Saturday the meetup is black balsam rd at some time to be decided.

We are going to have to get a signup sheet going soon. People are coming out of the woodwork for this trip. I figured around 20 trucks. If it's more we will start a couple groups and stagger departures. Thursday I don't see being a problem since there are two sweet spots on the river and plenty inland camping and a huge beach to car camp or tent on.

Friday may be tricky. Will figure it out. Saturday will be a complete crap shoot since it's the first day the trail will be open. I have backup plans for every night though.

I'm still in pending getting my steering back together. I'm still waiting on parts. Once I have them I should have my box back within 7 days. I think I will have time.

I'm still in. Debating on if I wanna bring my dog along for a 2-night excursion. Leaning towards NO.

Question I remember from last week: communication devices. Do you guys use two-way radios?! They're easy to buy/use/talk.
I no longer use a CB. Most folks have stopped using them.

30 doll-hair ham?! Where you order that from... Omaha Steaks?! Ima go with the Turkey club from Subways, hold the Jared.

For realz talk. No ham for me. I ain't got no license fer dat.

Amazon is your friend. I gave up on FRS radios a while ago after having two sets that wouldn't work across a parking lot. I did the CB thing for a while too, but distance and sound clarity of Ham is superior and cheaper than CB rigs. I have an extra radio you can use if you just wanna listen and "pretend" to talk if you have to.

I'm in
