Raleigh downtown was interesting. Twitter from multiple accounts and views and personal cameras showed peaceful protest until RPD showed up and starting kicking butt and shooting tear gas. No idea which is true. Wasn't there.
Thought provoking podcast. Would like opinions if you have time to listen. I have been around this crap my whole life growing up in Johnston County and being from NC.
This installment of The Pomp Letter is free for everyone.

The problem is, after reading some of that article and seeing the twitter vids, is that there are SO MANY idiots EVERYWHERE. I don't care what color you are.
You can't block a public street by sitting in it to get an Instagram vid, but you can't be a cop and treat people that way. (Notice I didn't say a color)....however, if the rioters were at home getting ready for school, job, studying, chores, babysitting, teaching their kids right from wrong...you know, taking care of themselves and their families to provide them a better future instead of wanting the gov't to change (thats not going to happen)....then they wouldn't have been pepper sprayed.
There are people of all color who 'make it', even under tough circumstances, and there are people who waste every opportunity.
We have the snitches get stitches mentality in the hood and in the police department. Neither the riot instigators nor the abusive cops will see any real punishment....so why not keep doing it?
But I'll get a seatbelt ticket. Fair?
I'm tired of everyone blaming everyone and everything else.
No one is really called out for being scum, lazy, stupid, ignorant, trash.....its usually someone else's fault, right?
Its accepted and almost celebrated. The moron talking heads call them 'protesters' and 'disenfranchised'.
Killer Mike has been celebrated on all the liberal news stations for speaking out....who is he? His opinion matters more than mine? Oh, and they seem to have QUICKLY forgotten how he made his money.....by actively encouraging the killing of police officers while his own DAD and other family members are cops. How can everyone be so dumb? How does this make our country greater? That MN cop, and all the others, have to deal with that every single day. You think just ONE might crack?
Thanks Killer Mike. You are the problem, while the media celebrates you.
Like Cornel West said...the system won't fix itself....so we have to fix how we live our daily lives. Do unto others as they say. Why you gonna ride a loud ass, illegal, dangerous dirtbike or 4 wheeler down city streets at high speeds with no helmet at all hours of the night? Do you think your neighbors appreciate that? Didn't your dad teach you better? (That's rhetorical).
I can't lean on affirmative action to get me into college, in fact, I'm behind the 8 ball BECAUSE of it. Where is my justice? Should I break the windows of the school or come up with some silly list of demands? Where is my privilege? I didn't grow up wealthy, lots of people have more than I do, Trump caused this virus and I lost my job (Ha at the Trump part, because some people think that way), and I have to watch what I spend. Can't be renting any rims or buying a squat lift kit anytime soon. I'm MAD!
No one has it perfect, no one knows each others true background and upbringing, and I or you can't stop some documented bad, thug cop in MN from killing someone. Go on about your life and make it the best it can be. Scary how casual communism and 'equality' is thrown around in that article. Lack of intelligence is showing. We are not equal, we will never be equal, unless we are all equally poor and oppressed.
But, you know, the stupid are easy to manipulate, the race baiters are probably getting a raise right about now, your rights are being eroded right before your eyes at an astonishing rate, and our idiot mayor threatened me and you with a 'hefty fine' if you leave the house after 8....all because some mental midgets broke some windows and the police are inept...so why am I punished? And we roll over and take it. Just as the people we voted for planned we would.
The schools focus more on feeding the kids than why the kids aren't being fed....how is that a solution? Its not. Oh that's right, its someone else's fault.
But it keeps the system all that more powerful.
"Of course, sir, I'll gladly pay more taxes if it means Johnny gets food." Happens every single day. Who is gonna fight tax hikes when 'kids might go hungry'?
And now they have more of your life and money.
It's just broken everywhere.
