Finally got the call today! Ryan at @OTRAMM officially has me on the list for a "slight amount of engine work" on my '96 LX. Should be good for another 300k before long!

For those who don't know - I'm spending most of my time in Northern Virginia this year, and OTRAMM is a Land Cruiser-specific shop that is literally 20 miles away from my VA location. Insanely nice guy, as is his main worker bee, Crash. He also has a Youtube channel that many of you are aware of (and might have seen my green 80 in one of the vids). He's also known for hosting Tech Days for CLCC at his shop. On a negative note, his dad, Bob @76FJ40 , won the ARB fridge at CRR2018...I'm working on getting even with him for that by hanging out with him every now and then.

I'm coming back to CRR2019 to see what I can win this year. The only luck I have is at Land Cruiser raffles for some reason but win or lose, it's all good. I'm looking forward to another great event.

Edit:

Still thinking about doing something, but also considering zeroing my new rifle, taking it easy around the house doing some small projects, and actually working on the truck. I am not sure I am READY for a big vacation yet.

I do have to go to Lenoir sometime between 4/11 and 4/15 tho.

Seriously considering doing the Gambler 500 in the bronco next year... as beat up as it is it will fit right in.

Do you need a doctor?

Moar is the swine language version of "more" and rhymes with boar. Example: The boar says, "Oink Oink, Moar Moar"

"Change Style" lightbulb????

Why am I just finding out about this now? I've been straining my eyes with everybody's crappy signature lines with a white background and all I had to do was click a lightbulb?!?!

dammit.

You just enlightened me......

Well the 100 is gone.

In the last 1.5 weeks I've pulled apart the front suspension a few times, ended up replacing everything on the driver’s side (knuckle, UCA, LCA, ball joints) put 35s on it.... adjusted suspension over and over to get them to fit, trimmed the tenders slightly, took off running boards, bought slee front spacers to clear the UCA. Fought with Firestone over alignments, took it somewhere else.
Then had to pull the hub off to replace a newly broken stud.

Major rubbing on the arb on DS. Pulled bumper off, found tweaked bumper mount, called around, no luck. Called ARB directly up the street only one in the country, won’t sell to me. Told my buyer, with his connections got the mount. Went to ARB HQ..... was told no pics because they have some 2020 rigs in there with products under development. Tried to discreetly get a video in the warehouse but after the newest android update I thought I was in video mode but instead in picture mode.
Put on new mount, put on bumper, had to hold bumper in position and drill out pinning holes at the same time. My DeWalt battery pack crapped out on me, had to use my cheapo corded drill.... took 15 minutes to drill through the steel.
Shoulder was already F'd after that 8 can barely lift arm above my head.

Had to rewire the HID bumper lights and turn signals. PO has even worse skills than me when it came to that.
Adjusted torsion bars for the 8th time, lol.

Truck sold. May show up in a certain Toyota magazine with 37s on it and a whole host of other goodness. I'm hoping it ends up on an overland coffee bag instead though.

Didn’t realize how much I missed driving it till this weekend.

Off to doctors today for a shot in my shoulder. Thought it had healed enough for cruiser work, but I was wrong.

I'll post the pics when I get to work and fix the 50-11 spelling errors thanks to my phone. Il post up the one I got at ARB that was supposed to start my video.

Didn't have a ton of pics of the work due to dirty hands.

Suspension parts I pick up were from a local guy that works with Tor, just SAS'd his hundred, thing is a beast up close.

35's look so right but I imagine 37's that are awaiting it in Vermont will look better.

Very interesting. The winch on my ARB was mounted feet forward and did not include the highlighted piece below. Allows for winch install and removal without removing the bull bar front portion. Remove 4 bolts and the winch drops out.

And replaced the 2 front lower control arms and 2 axles and it drives better than it has ever driven.

I wish this one was that simple.

I am not sure mine was done correctly. I have had 3 ARBs and this one on my 04 is the only one without the cradle. So much easier and worked fine in the 36 hour race. Never any issues. I removed the front 4 bolts and the M12 just dropped right out. A little heavy however it was so easy.

All chat aside about whether you like the way the new wrangler looks or jeep jokes, etc.....

this right here is proof that an expensive, rugged 4x4 vehicle can and will sell in the US, hopefully toyota see's this and decides hey maybe a 70 series could work in the US. I doubt it though but one can hope...........
