Girlfriend needs a transmission fluid flush, GX460, is there a shop in ABQ that do the close system

I believe Toymasters offers this service.

@alia176 can you make the following additions to the first post.

Powder coating: Absolute Powder Coating, 2400 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107. 505/369-1641

Engine Rebuild: Knighton's Automotive Machine Shop, 1101 2nd St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. 505-247-0257

Done.

DASH COVERS!
I would like to make an addition here:
These guys are really good at what they do, friendly, and local!
If they don’t have a pattern, they will make one from your rig.
These things look and work great.
They never move on the highway with the windows down, cut down glare, and help preserve the dash in the fierce NM sun.
If your looking for one, give them a try.

Talked to Empire Engine today and got some SBC rocker nuts for free for the smurf. Real nice people and like cruisers! Apparently they do the engine work for one of the Cruiser shops in CO and had some 2F waiting for a refresh. Think I'll try them out on my next engine adventure! They are across from American Toyota.

Anyone recommend an honest A/C repair shop, preferably in NE? Not for a Cruiser, since I don't have one right now, but need A/C just the same. My 2005 Honda Odyssey slowly lost chill last summer and I can't get it to charge at all with an off the shelf recharge/stop leak bottle.

I have had good luck with Advantage Automotive, near I- 40 and Juan tabo. Honest folks. They work on autos and Class A motorhomes. Had A/C repaired last year on sister-in-laws van. Works great. John and James 1-505-298-4996 511 Paisano NE ABQ,NM.

My transmission guy is retiring :(
Any recommendations for a trustworthy shop that won’t turn away a 700R4?

I have no experience with these folks. I drive by them several times a month. The shop always looks clean, and they usually have funny signs. They are getting good reviews on Google. Corner of Eubank and Indian School.

There’s a guy in Tijeras, Tim, that is exceptional with GM transmissions. He advertises on Craigslist. Engineer, machinist and gearhead. I can’t say enough good things about his work.

Here’s his listing:

Went by Desert Plastics today on a tip from Tim @ Absolute Powdercoating looking for scrap plexiglass. Real nice people and had a good selection of drop pieces they sell for $2 a pound. I got some 1/8” clear and I did see some 1/2” polycarbonate I wanted for no good reason.

We did a lot of business with Desert Plastics when I was at the garden. Yep, great people.

Thank you Steve, this is a valuable local resource.

David, where did you end up going? My 05 4R a/c is not working correctly. I don't have any experience with ac systems to try to fix myself.

Why not just take it to the shop on base? They do A/C recharge as one of many services they offer.

Good idea, unless all they know is how to do a recharge. It doesn't need more refrigerant. There's something going on with either over-pressure or a pressure regulator or temp sensor issue that's causing the compressor to cycle on/off every 40 seconds. The end result is just about the time the air gets cold, the compressor shuts off and then the air heats up again.

I need a GOOD alignment. 3” lift on my 4th gen 4Runner and aftermarket UCA’s. Any recommendations? I’m in Rio but ABQ is fine too.

RNS on Wyoming has a lot of experience with modified Toyotas.

Never heard of RNS... is this a comparable alternative to Toyomasters?

It's Wyoming and Zuni. It used to be Fast Lane Transmission. They have either rebranded, or it has changed hands entirely. Their alignment tech is really good and detail oriented. He's done a lot of the alignments for the TAV builds, so he isn't shy with wild toyota setups.
