After making sure everything was good (all up to spec) which they were we started measuring the stem guide holes, and they came out really good! The engine seems to be in really good condition. I did make a spread sheet (@CaptClose :)) of this so I will post that and a full engine report on what we did.

Since it was all good we took the cylinder head to the machine shop for valve and seat grinding/hot dip and re-assembly with new valve guide stem seals. We are re-using all springs, valves, and valve guides. We took a look around the shop, and learned a good deal from Mario! It might be my future internship in the summer, or your place @Yackster!:)

Nice job on the measuring of the head components.
What might be interesting is to see if the spring compression rate is still equal.
You can use a weight or a scale to press each spring with the same force and measure the length then.

What is the name of this tool you're using to measure the diameter of the guide? Not the digital caliper but the item you're inserting?

Bore diameter gauge. @Cowboy45 explains a bit about how it works. It is the gauges in the red case on pg 26. Attached a couple of pics.

Getting away from the engine rebuild for a few moments to capture life’s moments. I shared with @Cowboy45 this evening that this is one of my favorite pics of him. Star Wars shirt was a cherry on top. He is cracking open the crate containing the engine we are currently rebuilding for Old Landy.

That is my hands-down favorite photo in the museum. I put it there.
 
I am forever greatful to @CaptClose for trustingly letting @Cowboy45 reset the wheel bearing preload on his 80 while heading to SAS2. This is the moment @Cowboy45 caught the bug about cruisers. I shared my favorite pic of @Cowboy45 with @CaptClose moments ago who in turn shared this pic capturing the “disease” moment.

@roma042987, @POTATO LAUNCHER, @cornboy, @CenTXFJ60 and @76 FJ40 treated him with trust and showed him how. It’s more than cruisers. Family. Nothing like a mini knuckle job to rally around.
