I've posted this here before, but I think it is good for this thread. More proof of black wheels. I modified the splits on the pig by pirating clips from some old 15s and bolting them on with 10-24s tapped into the wheel. There were actually indentations where they needed to go. I also used to modify the 6 lug chev truck wheels. I cut out the centers by putting them on a rear and jacking it up, let out the clutch and my 'lathe' was going. I used a carbide formica scribing tool in a piece of flattened pipe for a cutter. My tool rest was a firewood round. I had the long pipe tucked under my arm and every so often I would contact a lug nut, which levered me off the ground.....This pic was taken in '93 pulling into my place on recovery day. Someday I will post a reverse shot of the now derelect 55 being towed by my latest 45.

Still love that pic(which was in the SOR catalog for years), that's been my 45 for the last 14 years.

Time to fire this thread back up!

Here's a photo taken in 1978. It's my Brothers 65 FJ45LV. I sure wish he still had the LV and so does he. Lots of good times in that rig!!! The other photo is from the same time period, it's his all stock "except for the wheels" 1966 FJ40, which he has owned for almost 40 years!

Also not a photo but an awesome vintage film with what looks to be a 1964 FJ40 and 1965 FJ45

It def. has a cheeseball low budget film feel to it but seeing those basically new cruisers flying aroundis just awesome. Plus as 76FJ40 noted the ladies aren't too hard on the eyes

Does this restart the right-side-up bezel debate?
