This is from a local rally in the UAE, back in the 80's. It's not a 45, but it's an excellent picture. I think the truck was a write off after this landing.

The Co-driver is John spiller, who became the team manager of the Subaru World Rally team, and now runs all of the FIA sanctioned events in the UAE. Fantastic guy.

Awesome picture Sarah!! Even has Al-Futtaim on the sides (still the Toyota dealer in UAE to this day) :)

Geez....start a caption thread just for that picture and make it into a shirt.

That pic reminds me of this pic.
I like those wheels. They look like one ton wheels.

Been checking these photos out and they are super cool:cool:

A fellow member of the Land Cruiser Club of Southern Africa posted this pic a while back and I thought it would fit right in with this thread.. It's a fleet of 45's circa 1985 belonging to the Natal Sharks Board which is situated where I grew up.. I can remember being in the water as a yungsta and watching them launch the boats on the beach to go and check the sharknets..

I remember what I went through to get these wheels!
WAY before anyone had 16" wheels in the USA.
I had to dig in junkyards to find chevy 16" wheels and machine out
the centers to fit on the LC hubs
