I definately checked the front hubs and they were on unlock. I just rebuilt, so I think they were correct.

The vibration was basically once I got about 30mph.

Like Chris said, if the front hubs are unlocked and you're in 2hi, the pinion won't turn. Could be rear pinion angle, tire balance, bent rim, wheel bearing.

Tire balance would be my guess with the swampers. If you have another set of tires you could throw on you could test that way.

Are they bias ply swampers? Been sitting? They flat spot. Might be part of the problem.

I think the good advice there was to take a set of good tires and test drive it.

I knew you all would have the goods!

About $30k US for an inter cooled turbo diesel 4x4 double cab HILUX from Thailand. 3.0L common rail diesel loaded to the gills.

I guess getting it into the states is one thing, being able to drive it on the streets is another....

Get a Tacoma, drop a 1KD-FTV in it, and just to really mess with everyone, put piezoelectric decals on the bedsides :D

U back from across the pond yet?

After much thinking, decided the weak link on the fuel issue was the old fuel line (steel) from the pump up to the carb.

I could not find the pressure fitting or metric flare nut, so decided to clean it out really good. I filled it with penetrating catalyzed goop for a couple days then ran pipe cleaners with copper wire wrapped around them back and forth through it. Due to all the bends this was quite difficult.

Hopefully that will do it.

Time to rip the carb off and do another cleaning, then put it all back together.

Did pull the fuel line out and cleaned up the interior. Ended up soaking the line in PB Blaster for 3 days, then ran some of the kids pipe cleaners through it with copper wire wrapped around it. Really tight with all the bends, but hopefully cleaned it up nice. By the way, I would have replaced, however with metric compression fittings, I could not find the parts to make a new line.

Figured I would clean up the outside too, and blew on some clearcoat.

So, need to pull the carb and clean it out again.

Also got some stainless steel cloth to try and put where the carb filter thing was that is unobtainium.
