Wifes old car is going up for sale. Its a great car and still runs like a top but with baby #2 arriving we needed at least one newer family car so we replaced it with a low mileage 2007 Sequoia.
Its got a few dents and dings from the years on the door and the tailgate.

He's had it about 18mo, bought it from a marine who had it sitting for a while. He's replaced head gasket, alternator, tires various other things. He said its got a few rust spots, it smokes and there's an electrical problem (blinkers). Sounds like a bit of an investment...

1971 FJ40 For Sale in Fort Mill, SC
While out garage sale-ing with my wife in early 2012 I met a guy named BJ who was the proud owner of a '71 FJ40. He made it to one ONSC Charlotte area meeting and I'd hoped he'd join our ranks.
He texted me today to say that circumstances had changed and he was selling his 40. HERE is a link to the CL post and below is a pic and the text from the listing. Let me know if I can help anyone that might be interest in it.
I am listing my 1971 FJ40 Landcruiser to go to a good home. I have had her for 3 years and have completely rebuilt the original engine, replaced the carb, new clutch, installed a bench back seat for my boys (I do have original rumble seats), replaced the fly wheel, electronic distributor, and reworked some of the electrical. She is a 3 speed on the floor that cranks every time. It comes with a hard top and bikini top. She does have a little rust but nothing major that a little love can't fix. Call if interested Seven Oh 4 Eigh Oh 6 51 Oh 5.

I'm going to offer this up here local first and see if anyone wants this. I just picked it up a couple of weeks ago from a guy in Asheville. I "believe" it came off a 94 or older because of a few of the parts that came with it extra as well as the MSD ignition system that allows you to adjust the spark.
I would like to get what i paid for it: $1,500.
You can download the manual for it. I went through the parts and from what i can tell it will need belts, extra pulley and the bracket to hold the pulley ($100 is what i read), 80MM stud and a gasket for the throttle body and i'm sure a few misc bolts.
The front nose bearing feels tight and smooth.

And FYI, I'm damn sick of iphone pics showing up sideways on these posts. It looks fine on the computer but will only show up properly here if I edit it by rotating it a full circle and saving it before attaching. Who knows how to solve this without using the words "get rid of the iPhone"?
