Im hoping someone has a spare tire lock ..for a 74 fj40.. can't seem to find one online new or used in better shape than the one I have. The one I have works fine so if worse comes to worse I'll just wire brush it and paint it.
Tire lock? Is that one of the locking special lugnuts?

It's for a pre-75. Hooks the spare tire holder to the rear. You have to unhook it to open the rear doors..Keeps the spare from swinging around (like I tried to do in Uwharrie back in September)

I thought I'd guinea pig the new JHD 1630B heavy duty mechless head unit in my 80 but it didn't work out. There's just no way to monkey this thing into the stock stereo space. However, it's a really neat radio, if a bit overpriced. Heavydutyradios.com is totally cool with a return but I'll have to eat the shipping costs. If someone local wants to try installing this in their 40, 60 or an aftermarket console then I'll sell it to you for $200. I paid $225 including shipping. Here's the link to the site I bought it from. As far as I can tell they're the only people with the updated model:

There are cheaper mechless stereos but I really liked the retro look (most HUs try to look all futuristic and don't fit with the stock aesthetic) and the ruggedization.

Anyone have a known working 1F carb I can buy/borrow/lease until I rebuild mine? I've got to get my 40 fix, and it's not looking like I'll have any time to rebuild mine until April-ish....
Adam gave me a 2F, but I think the conversion is just as time consuming as rebuiling the 1F, could be wrong though...

I know this is reaching but does anyone have a steering column cover (bezel) in dark brown for an FJ60? One in pic is cracked and missing screws; so the right screws also would be nice.

The one i have is also cracked in a few key places and has a chunk missing from around the key hole.
Sorry, thought it was better than this but once i got it in the light outside i seen what it really looks like.

For some reason I have an entire brand new 1FZ plug/wire/cap/rotor set in my garage.
I'm guessing that ole Greg's gnomes must have delivered them to the wrong house when the moving was going on.... because I have no idea where it came from.

Just to put it out there, this is going on the market soon:
1985 Stock FJ60 with appproximate 128,xxx original miles. John is the second owner and the first owner was a rich dude here in Albemarle. I don't think it's ever been offroad!
Thinking about putting on craigslist for $ 6000 OBO but if any member of ONSC is interested, I think he will give them a deal. Will get lots of pics and post when weather cooperates.

That looks like a 60 I used to own when I lived in Atlanta. I miss that truck, though it did have its fair share of problems and just about put me in debtor's prison.
