We need buns of some type for the brats. And burger stuff for those that don't want brats.
Maybe some tater salad?
What about condiments for the burgers/dogs?
Paper plates? Napkins?
Well it could be 5 rigs or 20. I'd plan on at least 15-20 people. No real head count as of right now.
Just a package of plates, plasticware and napkins should work fine. I'll have other silverware, paper towels etc already in the trailer.
So, are we still meeting at these coordinates? 33°39°33.49°N 117°35°7.26°W
I just mapped it out and damn that is a maze to go through! It mapped out to an hour and a half from my door.
Hay Dan are you still planning on rolling up from SD?
It's looking less and less like I am going to be able to make this. I am in the same boat as Brent closing the books each month and corporate is shaving days off my close schedule so I will need to work.
So you count beans too Dan? After 30 years, I'm tired of this crap!
Wow - I need to get on my software and put the Catalina repeaters in my Orange County memory.
The FT-8800 has 10 memory banks and I've got the six major counties for SoCal (TASMA) in 6 of the banks, have them on the hyperkeys and some of the smaller counties like Kern and Inyo combined in the 7th one IIRC. Since Catalina is LA County, they are all in that memory bank. Simple check of a box on bank 1 of the RT Systems software for the 2-3 Catalina repeaters, connect to the radio and upload the new configuration and I'm done...just haven't done it! I now have an FT-8800 in both the cruiser and the Miata, so it was super simple to program the second radio - cloned the Landcruiser! See...there is some Landcruiser in the Miata Dave. Hard to talk and shift at the same time in the Miata tho!
I usually have one side scanning the OC bank of repeaters and the other on 146.520, but if I go on an outing were I know fellow cruisers are hams, it's a simple twist of the dial to go down to 146.460 from 146.520 on the second side. Gotta love dual band radios!
Right now I've 'borrowed' the SBB1 antenna for use on the Miata. Little antenna on a small car does not make for great range. The SBB7 I keep on the cruiser while on road is to damn tall an antenna to use on the Miata and still drive into the garage! IIRC $50 or so for the SBB5 which will be a good compromise antenna for the Miata.
I'll have the CB on channel 3 (day of the week) as well!

Wholy crap, so is that a yes or a no? Please don't tell me you're bringing the Miata to the 80 meet and greet![]()
Anyone bringing beer?
and my buddy who is considering a cruiser in the future.Young Punk![]()
