Preseason is low cost, and kids may be on spring break. The water is just warm enough to take a quick dip, the fish are running, and it is not warm enough to attrack our Northern cousins.

I am already booked for the week of April 20th. Doubt you'd want a bunch of beer drinking, hard fishing dudes staying with you but we should definitely plan to meet up.

We'll be in a house that I am also renting next weekend.

I updated Heather's Tellico Trail Closure thread but figured I'd post here too.

Last Thursday the SELC again aggressively pursued more serious ORV regulation for beach access at the Outer Banks.

Has anyone thought about roughing it on Cape Lookout? The whole Island is 4x4 access and is uninhabited. They have small shacks to rent to have a dry spot. I hear it has great surf fishing around the jetties. I am working on a personal trip, staying in a house up near Hatteras that my dad has rented before. Staying a week and bringing the boat up there. Then staying at Cape Lookout a couple of nights and surf fishing all night and roughing it 4x4 style. I am planning this in March, so if there is anything I can check out for you just let me know.

That sounds pretty sweet. I like the seclusion and roughin' it personally.

As far as anyone from CU is concerned, Spring Break is March 17-21 and Final Exams are from April 26-May 3. Not sure how much of a difference it makes, but I know for me, it's hard to get away, but I'd LOVE to make this trip if possible. I'm pretty open as far as accomodations w/ in a reasonable budget.
