:whoops:, Sorry for the derail, Travis. That pumpkin pig is a nice example, maybe start looking for a whole rear clip.

:whoops:, Sorry for the derail, Travis. That pumpkin pig is a nice example, maybe start looking for a whole rear clip.
you could use some 1/8"diamond to make a sort of tailgate/hatch thing across the back and build a diamond plate platform bumper that goes all the way to the end of the frame and is deep enough to hold your spare/fuel/jack on top of it w/out overhanging the bumper, heck maybe even leaving room for a step-up with the thing all loaded up...You could use some rectangular or square material to fab uprights-use them as the endcaps to the body panels, the support for the tailgate frame, AND the support for your tire/fuel rack hinges all at the same time, and keep the tank down under where it was...how much room do you have from the back of where the bulkhead material will be to the end of the body panels?
you've got options.,...
Like the idea!
As for room, I'm still not sure where the bulkhead will go. Still playing with a couple of different ideas. Right now, it's in the 2-3 foot range.
I also like the idea of not cutting the frame, but that departure angle!!!
Man, that thing is LONG!
the departure angle isn't so terrible if it all ends at the plane where the very rearmost piece of cross member is- that can be made straight to cut out 2 more inches and not having to touch the "frame". and if everything is tucked up high and tight over the bumper- without any overhang- the departure angle is then better than it was stock. a couple inches on the springs or a spring over and it would be a non issue.
that truck is looong....but in a standard 4 wheel set-up and a shorter box....I love the things...there's sooo much one could do

Building the pig because it was built before the idea of "Planned Obsolesence".
