Did not get the fuel pump to work yet though. But it does start and run.

I will try to get some pics for you all soon. Most of my time lately has been spent on my 40 and my bike. Took some leafs out of my 40 trying to get some more articulation. Also had to replace a birfield that i broke last time out. Was waiting to hopefully get my locker from Aussie locker that i ordered almost a month ago but i guess not in time for my trip this weekend / next week.

Anyway anyone have a good clue as to why a brand new fuel pump will not pump, or is it too much to try and get it to pick up from a 5 gallon container on the floor?

Is it OEM or aftermarket. Some of the parts store pumps do not seem to have the right shaped arm on them. The arm ends up not stroking the pump enough to move liquid. A good pump will have no problem pulling from a 5 gallon can on the floor. BTDT. :)

HTH,
Nick

This one is OEM but it could have been built on a friday though.

Well, guess i had to prime the pump or something like that. Took the fuel line off up by the carb and put my finger over it while i was turning it over and it started pumping fuel.

So now it runs on its own.

Make sure you have a spacer on your pump, if it's needed. I didn't install one, and my pump lasted about 2 miles before it disintegrated. The PO had put an inline electric on and plugged the mechanical on the block with a home-made gasket. When I pulled the oil pan to fish out the mechanical pump arm, I found the remains of 3 pumps...

Mine did not have one on here and i did not put one back on. Now you got me worried.

Should i have one or not is the question for me.

F135, yes or no to a spacer for the fuel pump ?

Hopefully someone can answer this before it goes to junk.

Just looked at the F engine repair manual i have here and it does not say anything about the spacer..

The original looked like this one of foxfab's, with primer and without spacer.

Thanks Dave. I still have the original one with the primer rod and all. I am going to rebuild it one day for this thing.

Alot to catch up on here.

Was in the woods camping and 4 wheelin for almost a week. Was kinda funny cause got to the top of this one trail and low and behold who was broke down up there but some Army guys. They were training up there before they go to the Stan. Got their truck back going again, as they had no tools or anything with them up there.

On to the 45.

Got the engine broke in finally. Had to brak the new cam and stuff in. Runs really good with good oil pressure and good oiling up top.

Did a bunch of wiring stuff on this thing as far as the cluster goes. Got it all working. Going to call EZ here again shortly with some questions about the turn signal wires and back up light wires but after that should be pretty much done with the hard part of the wiring.Still have to hook up the front part of the truck and start running light wires but that should be pretty easy.

The fun part has been the fuel tank. Tried that POR 15 fuel tank treatment stuff and it seems it might accidently work. Looks good on the inside now. Even Rust bullited the outside of it so hopefully will not have any problems out of it for awhile.

Not too sure how many have worked on a tank before from one of these but i found out something new on it. Where the fuel outlet hooks into the side has a tube that runs a way into the tank. Mine was clogged solid with some nasty stuff. I ma not even sure why i tried to run something in it but i am glad now that i did. Would of put some fuel in it and been a little upset when i did not get anything out of it.

Enough chatting onto some pics.

Last pic was of the inside of the fuel filler tube that i put some of that fuel tank stuff on the inside of it.

Woo hoo - some pics. Thanks I needed that.

Looking great!

Excellent job as always Darin

Do you still need that carb and other misc. linkage and stuff? Got some time now so I could get it off to you if you still need it?

Oh , Yes Sir I still need it bad. I am running a 4 bolt carb plate on this one right now. I have 0 carb linkage whatsoever. It came with a Holley or something and a cable for the carb linkage.

Many Thanks

Looking really good, Darin. Funny you have the same blue clutch master I had (until it spit on my shoe and died last month).
