Does your block have the pivot threaded hole for the linkage?
I was going to do this on my 45 and I have a later 2F that does not have a provision for the linkage....
If your block is old school it should have it......

Yes i went and rebuilt the 135 for this thing, so it has the threaded hole and has the pin for the springs.

Thanks

Got a favor to ask from anyone following this with an old 40 / 45. I need all of the carb linkage from the pedal all the way to the carb. I am going to try and put the one barrel carb on this thing. Thanks for any and all help in locating this stuff.

Hi Darin,

Haven't had a lot of time to surf your thread this past week, but going through it now......excellent work as usual.

I think I may have what you need? I see Butch is going to take a look for you, but I'll look also. I'm almost postive I have everything from the pedal to the carb for the 135, assuming it's the same on the lv.

I'll snap a couple photos and if you still need it your more than welcome to it :) Let me know if you need anything else for the 135, I've got the whole thing sitting there??

Matt

I have the stuff I posted, but the tools I had with me would not take the stuff off........I put my big set in the wifes 80 last weekend and forgot.....

I will be down there over the weekend.......if Matt does not have what ya' need I'll watch the thread and pull it off for ya'
Butch

If it turns out there's extra I'm also lookin' for the same linkage, if it's not too worn. :D

Matt,

Yes if you have all of it I will gladly take it off of your hands for you.:D :D

I do not think i need the carb, but i am going to take some pics here in a bit an hopefully someone can tell me if this thing will work on the 135.

I did nothing on this thing yesterday, had to spend most of the day catching up on yard work. Then it was so nice out went for a bike ride.

Dave , If Matt has evrything i need then I guess you can get the stuff from Texican. I also think that Cruiser_guy might have some of the stuff you need.:)
He had mentioned he might have some from his 45.

As promised here are a few shots of the carb. The side says its a D-40. Will this work on a 135 ? Also you can see where there is a part missing from the base part from above the air / fuel mixture screw is, anyone know what goes there ? I got this carb out of a garbage pile from a place around here so i am not even sure once i open it up all will be there.

And seeing as we are on this subject for now, is there a easy way of cleaning out the oil bath air filter housing where the screens are ? I got one from someone on here but it is pretty nasty in there. It has been soaking for about a week now in my parts washer but the screens are still nasty. Was wondering if it comes apart ?

Thanks

My carb is not exactly like your's, I know for sure this is the one off my 65 FJ45......your missing fitting is the distributor advance cause I left the line in this one.......

Does the one part just pull apart so you can get under th screen element ? Thats what it looks like in the above pic. I just did not want to try and pull it apart and break it in the process.

Thanks

I think your linkage should look similar to this...

Or this. Not sure why SOR shows two set-ups for the same year range.

Dan, Seen the same thing myself. I think Matt has close to everything i need. From what Matt posted on his build it looks to be the same as what had come on mine, at least where the gas pedal is concerned. I tell ya, trying to get this thing back right is fun sometimes, thank goodness for this board though. Without it I could still get this thing done but not without alot of cussin.
