Nice - the Gorge is probably my favorite place in western NC. Been going down in since the late 70s.
Was up on the parkway above 6K feet on Saturday and the leaves are a little further along up there.
It should be perfect in 2.5 weeks!

I've got a few minor things to sort out with the 80 before the trip but I should be able to get them done in time.
I'll be leaving from Burlington so if anyone coming from the east wants to meet up and caravan, just let me know. Can't wait to see this part of NC...haven't been out this way since I was a young kid!

WHAT???? Another 40 on a trail ride? No way man, there can only be one 40 per ONSC event. At least....it nearly seems that way with all the others I have been on.
There seems to be more and more wagons on runs, and even more so with the rides like this. You and I may be the only two. We'll need to keep an eye on our trucks to make sure they don't make a RAV4.
I'd be all about taking mine, but I'd love to get Ramon's springs on it before I tackle some trails... Those springs I've got are mighty flat... Oh, and the

If the stars continue to line up, I hope to be bringing my trailer up there. I assume we can park a truck and trailer at the Walmart??

S4 You want to head up this way? i think the RDU crowd is leaving 6:30-7 am and going to stop at the W-S rest area and join w/ the rest of us (+/- 8:00). Steve, Barry, yourself, and I (anyone else too (spence)) can all meet and hang at the rest area for the capitol crowd.

You are right, there certainly are a lot of caddys...after riding with Greg a few months ago, I know why...man, I barely new we were on a trail.However, I will be there babying my 40. Looking forward to seeing more 40's as well as I still have several upgrades to do and want to see what others have done.

No problem J - the guy was in Cherokee and said he could get them to Aville, but it was going to a logistical challenge. I still have a LONG way to go to be ready in just over 2 weeks!
For those in the caravan - I am trailering w/ my 1500, so not sure how you guys feel about speed. Once we hit those hills, it's gonna' be kind of slow going. I was able to do around 70mph no problem to OBX, but the hills are a different story. Anyone want to chime in? I don't want to kill my truck (and my gas bill) trying to keep up, so maybe I should leave out a little early and meet somewhere west????

......Alright alright I'll slow down this time....at this point I am with the slow crowd, with the new tires and the hills she needs a little TLC this go round...
Looking forward to this trip and it looks like we will have quite a few new faces this time.
The cruiser stars smiled today. I got the Friday off so change my schedule to noon the 24th.
I posted at UC too. I was on both schedules so I figured when we take off I'll just follow whoever looks to have the best chuckwagon.
