The cruiser stars smiled today. I got the Friday off so change my schedule to noon the 24th.

I posted at UC too. I was on both schedules so I figured when we take off I'll just follow whoever looks to have the best chuckwagon.

Saturday arrivers should be listed, try droppin them a pm. Also i will try and get a list of #'s together.

thanks to those that have fowarded me your address (got 16/20), you should be receiving the waivers shortly from BMThiker (RickCarswell).

pretty sure that best western isn't finished yet. It was still coming out of the ground when we were there a few months ago. as far as i can remember.

x 2 Ramon, Long time no see.

Tell me about it Steve. Can't wait man!! Just have to do a SOA and 465 swap b/w now and then :)

OK, stupid question time from the newbie to the trail...Will I need to bring gas cans along? I know that the gas issue on the western part of the state is improving but I'm also concerned on the length of the trail with my stubby 19g tank in the FJC.

Or, I could be using this as an excuse to buy some gas cans...

good question!! how about the gas situation? as far as communication goes. will one of those 12 mile range hand held devices work or does it need to be one of those cb types?

12 mile FSR radio is perfect, and what the majority of us will have. we will be in a group but its nice to be able to communicate w/out stopping and we may split the friday group into two to have smaller groups on the trails.

You should not need extra gas for the trail ride. Now the hwy portion is the only concern. I was in hichory and about half stations had gas, you just got to hunt em down. This being said your welcome to bring some as a precaution and EVERYONE NEEDS TO FILL UP ON GAS BEFORE MEETING THE GROUP IN THE PARK!!!!!! We will not be meeting and getting ready to go and have to wait on peeps to fill up. You should fill up in SYLVA, Cullowhee or East Laporte to make sure you have enough for the weekend. These modded 80s arent know for stellar mileage either and ive never had a problem.

Now if your one of those pansies that starts their truck in the middle of the night to stay warm; no garuntees :D

Waivers will be sent next week. Thanks to all that have gotten me an email; i dropped you other slackers a PM but you guys may be on the UC list.

Just a friendly reminder to reiterate what BMTHiker had posted above. These are primitive locations and conditions. You will need to bring whatever gear you might need with you. There is no running back out to the store for any needs (gas, ice, chocolate) I just want to make sure everyone knows what to expect. We will not be at the same site two nights in a row so we wont be leaving camp set up. YOU are CRUISER CAMPING, enjoy it and bring everything you might need.

I'll fill up in winston....that should hold me for the whole weekend. :flipoff2:

We'll do our best to make this one. Should be at least one of the kids and one of the dogs coming too. We should be able to make it for the Friday meeting and are early birds.

I only live about 7-12 miles (10-15 min) from the meeting area and have plenty of parking in our field if anyone wants to park the truck and trailers there. pm me
Tommy

I used to pack a 5 gal Blitz can the first couple times I went up there, but it was unnecessary and somewhat of a PITA. Fill up before you hit the trail and you'll be fine, especially since you've regeared and have a crawler box :D We might cover 40 miles over the entire weekend.

Forms just went out via email. Please let me know if you did not receive my email.

getting replies back already and it is working just as planned. All the form data is being compiled into a single database file. woot-woot.
