I have the twin-insert style of headlights on my 80 and recently sourced new genuine inserts for all four of them through Amayama. They are high quality glass lens inserts not some cheap junk. ;) I have never tried to source the Sahara-style single-piece integrated headlight assemblies as there are too many part numbers to work out the correct ones for RHD pre-8/92 build. ;) So far I have not come across parts for the twin-insert setup that aren't available new OEM but of course that will start to happen in time.

What I don't have right is the headlight aim - I have no idea how to do it myself so just guestimated it using the adjustment screws accessible from the front.

Outer hi/lo inserts use H4 lamps. Inner hi-only inserts use H1 lamps.

On the subject of headlight upgrades...

Piranha off-road that makes the 'Superloom' harnesses for generic 4x4 headlight wiring upgrades will no longer sell them direct for 80 series owners unless the harness is installed by them at their workship... Note I don't know if they can be used with LX450's. This wording is on their website for the LISL4 headlight harness product:

IF REQUIRED TO SUIT AN 80 SERIES CAN ONLY BE SUPPLIED AND FITTED AT PIRANHA HEAD OFFICE ,BORONIA,VIC PLEASE RING TO BOOK.

Talk about alienating a full segment of the Australian 4wd market from buying the product!

Well shoot I guess the next best option is HIR Bulbs and a Slee harness?
You could buy a set of the anzo lights and put the lenses on your stock lights assuming you have stock lights, then u could also install projectors. You would have plastic lenses instead of glass, but most new cars have plastic lenses anyway these days.

True, very true. It's a bit of work and if i go that route I might instead do an hid conversion with the d2 projectors in the anzo housing. I think I'm going with HIRs, cheaper and simpler.

I spoke with a retailer and was told that Depo had to renegotiate terms with their manufacturer, thus the pause in supply. Don't know that to be true. I've been waiting for weeks to receive my set and should have them in hand around mid June. I gave around $200+ for the set

Just ordered a set. Thanks for update info. Once the 7 inch rounds are tweaked and readily available I'll definitely be ordering.

Depos are on my long term todo list and I'm always looking to save a few bucks so let me know if you want to sell your relatively new depos if/when you upgrade to the 7" rounds :)
