looks like you have to buy a permit. Is that correct.
http://www.tn.gov/twra/gis/NorthCumberlandOHV.html
also, I see there is a shooting range, is there a possibility of stopping there?

It looks like a riding permit AND a hunting permit? If I read this right?

At least one occupant of a vehicle must possess a valid annual hunting license along with a WMA permit or a North Cumberland Special Use Permit is required. License and permits may be purchased locally at license agents or online at www.tnwildlife.org.

Public use is allowed during all hunts. During daylight hours all users outside of enclosed vehicle or outside of camp must wear, on the upper portion of their body and head, a minimum of 500 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange, visible front and back, during the deer-gun and muzzleloader seasons.

I might be reading it wrong. Hunting and WMA or hunting and special use or is it hunting and WMA inclusive or only a special use permit? And where do I get one?

EDIT: I re-read the whole thing. Just a special use permit to ride. Looks like it can be purchased online but I can't find it anywhere and some of their hotlinks are broken.

You are correct, you need either a hunting license With a WMA permit or a special use( OHV ) permit. If you are going to ride there a lot it is cheaper to go with the hunting license You can buy the permits from your smart phone at www.gotwra.org.

Thanks. That does not accept that I am 6'0" tall so it won't work.
I guess it is linked to Obama Care.

so I am still kinda confused.
Looks like Hunting season is still in play.... to Jan 5th

Use possession or transportation of firearms, bows and arrows or other arms and ammunition is expressly prohibited except when authorized. Firearms loaded with ammunition in either the chamber or magazine may not be transported in vehicles.
So the way I am reading this is we cannot carry firearm in? or is it OK if you have a hunting permit.
Still trying to figure out how to explain to the :princess: why I am getting all this orange garb, etc. since I do not really hunt....

oh and by the way... is this the type of trails to expect?

you cant have a loaded gun in the vehicle

have proper permit....gun/ammo ok, but not loaded weapon.

if you have a concealed wepon permit/pistol permit that might allow you to carry. irrespective of that I'm sure you need the proper permit to access the place. There are idiots who shoot/hunt from a vehicle.

Bummer was hoping for some fun trails like those.
Not necessarily. That is not officially a North Cumberland trail. Its there and gets occasionally ridden but for the most part North Cumberland trails are mild.

I am back in, surgery postponed due to lack of spare parts. Apparently all the Zimmer hip replacement balls have been recalled. Probably will not know until after first of year when they will be available.
