Oh Man, now you did it! You get to have three, then we start using the term, Hoarder! :) The 55 gets done first, right?
HOARDER????!!!!??? I don't think I like that term!! Lol if that's that case I all ready am....my daughter thinks she owns my 62 ;-)
Some how I don't think of the 62 the same as I do the 55 or the 40. I bought the 40 just for the locker and something to mess with until the 55 gets back from the body shop. I'll more than likely just sell it or take it to my folks place in Montana. It needs a lot of work to make it safe to drive!! After the PO drove it to my house....about 30 minute freeway drive (because I said I WOULD'NT) I was poking around under the hood and noticed the steering coupler rag joint was shot!!!! It fell out when I picked up the steering shaft. Worn motor mount, worn tranny mount and about 25% brake!!!!

SCARY!!!!!

Maybe " Collector " would be a better term. :) I, on the other hand, am hoarding parts for a future build, that I pray never happens. It tends to just start innocent enough with me and next you know I have a dozen. Did it with VW's, stashing parts in the attic was rock bottom. My Kids always said I had enough parts up there for three bugs.

That joint does look spooky, should show that picture to the PO. Hope he treated the locker better.

You can never have too many parts!!! :-) ya I was thinking the same on the locker !!! I'm under the truck right now in the gravel with a darn headlamp on!!! What I'd give for my house back!!!!!

Next time I'm through Anacortes, I'll have to check out your "collection". I'm really interested to see the Bobm pieces installed, as I will be performing similar surgery.

Well you and scrapdaddy started it!!!! And by the way....drove in the deep end or OFF the deep end!!! Because...well ya know how sometimes your looking for cruiser parts and you run acrossed something that you really had NO bussiness buying..... Well I just couldn't pass this up. 1970 40.. Things been beat but now I have a home for the disk axles that's under the 55, the stock transfer with the. 700r adapter and it's got a very strong 350 in it now. Everything will marry up, now all I need is another 700r transmission. Oh yeah....... I forgot...... It also has an ARB rear locker :) ....at $1500 I HAD TO BUY IT !!!! The ARB will be going into the Porker!!View attachment 1070800View attachment 1070801View attachment 1070803

Sweet! This is the kind of purchase you would have to tell your wife how much $ you SAVED by buying this! You couldn't afford NOT to buy this! And then expect her to lavish praise on you for your shrewd strategy...

Holy cow!!! It's been awhile! Well I haven't sold the pig or given up her! Just have had a bunch of things that have needed alittle more of my attention. I still read your guys post and look for inspiration that is VERY easy to find!!
I've worked on the roof and tailgate removal and have taken parts to the blaster.

Awk338,

Did you ever get the roof totally off the body?

Scrapdaddy,

No I didn't take it all the way off myself. I wasn't sure on the front windshield, so I left it intact. Body guy came and picked it up on a flat bed. I was just chasing my tail in the mud and gravel so I decided to put her in the body shop.
