After fueling up and getting some pizza at Maverick in Salina, we drove south on RT89 and stopped at the boyhood home of Butch Cassidy. A nice diversion during the long drive back to Las Vegas.

The wife and I absolutely cannot wait to get to do Pig Party and break out the camping gear. Hope we can squeeze in a trip before I hope to retire in 4 years.

MIss the Pig Parties and the people. We'd been to the first six from PP#1 through the Black Hills. Favorite was the Magruder Trail. Too early to suggest you all return to where it all started, Rico, in 2027?

I thought I met you at the 2022 PP at Rio de los Pinos, NM??? You had the green/white pig? But you sold it? If so then you have been to 6 PP’s?

Wish I had more time to get Ghost Pig ready! Next year!

I am the Cruise Moab trail boss and I agree we need to have a Pig run next year! We are celebrating our 30th anniversary and a first annual Pig run would be awesome. Any vendors want to sponsor?

We started a 40's Only Run 2 years ago and it has been a blast.

After a long hot day of driving we picked a campsite not too far down the trail on the tip of a ridge. Slept under the stars with an amazing view of the night sky.

We picked an unplanned and unknown trail back up to Skyline just south of Manti. It tunred out to be a very difficult rocky and steep trail that really challenged our pigs. We stopped about half way up to let our pigs rest and cool down since we both are still running 2F engines. The second half was less rocky but still very steep. Both of these sections didn’t really allow us to think about pictures but at the very top we had a final climb back to the trail through a large meadow.

Most of Skyline is above 10,000 feet with sweeping views of mountains and valleys on both sides. Many groups of sheep herders, sheep dogs, and vast numbers of sheep…and their “bleeting” …in many of the valleys.The highest point on the trail is 10,897 feet. It was nice being in the mountains at elevation for the cooler weather.

Down the trail further we found Emerlad Lake so we stopped and decided to do some more fishing. So beautiful. The pictures don’t do it justice.

How did the Pigs do at 10,000 feet?

Both did great! My 2F has a Holley Sniper EFI so didn't miss a beat. Mike's 2F still has a carb...he said he noticed a bit of difference and wondered how it would do if he changed the jets for high altitude.
