New pig in the pen

Here is my 71~

Hey all~ here is my "free" 55! Yeah a buddy of mine gave it to me! Here is the story~
My friend Dan had this Fj55 in perfect stock condition for many years... one day his daughter drove it to Big Bear and on the way home blew the motor! So fast forward 3 years... I see him and asked "Hey how's the Land Cruiser!?" and he told me the story and ask if I wanted it? I said oh yeah!
The only down side is no motor or tran/transfer case... but we have them now! (2f motor and 4 speed trans /transfer)

I just need a good mechanic in the Palm Springs area... Thanks!

No smell..... Did get my rear tailgate glass cut today ($45. ) in the green tint like the factory. Now to run dow that exhaust leak , its either the manifold or the bottom where the flange is. Maybe take a day off work to fix it.
 
Well I got the rear glass in and got the manifolds off and my remflex ordered today. Only had one bolt break off, the front one near the PS pump. Left about 1/2 in sticking out ,got PB blaster soaking on it and maybe able to get it out with some vise grips tommorow.
 
My gasket didnt come in friday which I guess was a good thing because after cleaning the manifold up It was pitted bad on all the exhaust ports. Will drop it off at the machine shhop tommorow to get surfaced.

Well the last 2 weeks I really wasnt doing much to my Pig because I hit a road block and didnt know what was going to happen.(kinda my fault for not looking) When I bought the pig The guy signed the title over to me and I really didnt look at it because of the excitement of getting my pig. I put it in the glove box and left it there.
When I got the tank and floor in and got it running I decide to go and register it and found the original ower sold it to a guy for his 16 year old son who looked at it and said YUK, he didnt want it. So he sold it to the guy I bought it frrom and he had it about 2 weeks and sold it to me. NO ONE ever registered it and one guy signed where a dealer should have and the title was worthless! :mad: :mad: .
Well I tracked down ( a very nice old Doctor) the original owner over in Miss. and told him the situation and he just chuckled. Well he said no problem and he filed for a replacment title and signed it over to me . He knew the court house people and they got a title in a week! He called me last night and the title is on the way!! :bounce: :bounce: Now I can get back to serious work on her knowing I didnt lose my money and I wont have to part it out.
Goes to show you there are still some good people in this world.
 
Still working on the pig (slowly) Took it and titled it today! still alot of body work to do but im driving it to work monday to see how she does. (Mainly because its supposed to rain and the tops off my 40.)
