nope, not a bad price, you did good, especially for the year, the PS, and the shape she is in,,, I paid 1600 for one in ALOT worse shape 10 years ago... ended up giving it away when I moved...

not to hijack, but I have heard a rumor from a local vendor that may start production of NEW 55 body parts, like a few companies are doing for the 40 45 and 60/62 market.

'Alcoa quoted 1k for springs'.. since they have seemingly fallen into the 'unobtanium' catagory that might not be too bad,, I think I saw some ranchos on fleabay for around 350 a pair

dbl-hijack over-sorry

5" springs for 33's?

spring over with some 36,s and mud the hell out of it!

MUD  That truck will be red in more ways than one. You'll need to add another bumper sticker "Hell no, I ain't forgettin, the South will rise again" :hillbilly:
Too bad about the rust you found. The body mounts, rockers & rear tailgate area will be the worst in my findings. Check to see if those front floorboard mounts are packed with MUD like this:

Well I ran out of diesel in my lizard so I came in to warm up and post some pics. After pulling all the mess out of the rear I found some serious rust. After a impact screwdiver and a BFH I finally had to drill out the tail gate screws. With the help of my pro cut 25 and a 4inch cut off wheel I tore out the most part in just a few minutes. going to get some diesel for the lizard and go back out and finish trim cutting next. the PO poured bondo in the bed and spread it around so that had to come out first (should have taken pics of it). Oh well, will post more later.

The head rests are in good shape, I tried pulling them out but they only move a couple of inches.
I know some you guys are looking for them so if you can tell me how to get them out there yours for the cost of shipping.

Well after seeing everyones front fenders I decided to look and see how bad mine were. I strippe the drivers down and only found two minor spots, one about the size of a dime and the other a quarter.Once I get evrything stipped Ill go back and finish the bad spots and shoot it with a high build primer. (rattle canned primered this so it wouldnt rust up).

Also got my factory A/C unit and control in the mail from another mud member.

Hope it works out well for 'ya :D You going to use a York compressor? Have any of the other A/C components? Don't overheat that Procut 25. The duty cycle is like 30% & only rated for 1/4" max. I already burnt one up

Going to use a ford ranger radial comp. and a 86 ranger condensor (super thin , fits like a charm, same setup I put in my 40) Ill take pics when I get to the install.

Can you help me understand what you mean by this?

I presume it is A/C related, but I am trying to understand what the procut 25 is, duty-cycle and the 1/4" reference.

I would like to have A/C in the Pig by this summer, but there is a lot I don't know...

TIA,
