Bumper

Thats the spare that came with the truck, it will be removed and bolted on the tire carrier. I need to buy another 33 inch tire, If you want stock bumpers I may have both front and rear that came with my truck

Luke111- Great bumpers but why get the IPOR spare tire holder when the spare is underneath already?

The truck is basically stock except for the paint job. I do like stock trucks but it's not like pigs are worth huge money when kept stock. I'm torn between switching the bumper off the back or keeping it and getting a stock bumper for the front.

Also, it's over 2 hours to the nearest legal place to go wheeling so wheeling is a rare occasion. Sliders might be overkill.
hOWDY! Back in the good old days, we used to go out to the Army Fort ??? whatever in western Mass and run in the tank traps. I imagine security is a bit tighter now. Also, we used to go up to Baxter State Park in Maine. The ranger let us go thru the gates and out to the far away lakes. We had a lot of fun exploring the old logging camps and the hunting/fishing camps around the lakes. Found lots of old relics, mostly rusted to oblivion, even a few old trucks left out there forever! John

There is the air base in Western MA that I know of and that's where they fly the stealth bomber missions to Iraq from.....don't think the pig is stealthy enough to get past the gate! There are some runs in upper central MA that I haven't been on yet. Plenty of good places in ME like the Moosehead lake area and also in NH. These are all at least 2 hours away and Moosehead is 6 hours.

The old relics in the woods sounds cool. There is a B-52 that crashed in the woods near Greenville, ME in the 1940's. Still all sorts of parts littered in the woods.

that sucks, it would be a shame not to get such a lovely truck running right, but I certainly can sympathize with not wanting to sink big bucks into an old, old rig.

Tough decision. The 2F is pretty resilient though, how does it drive now?

drives ok. smells a bit out the tailpipe but runs well.

you will be fine on the class 6 roads with the group. hell, i think i am sticking to mostly those as well. while sliders mght seem like over kill it is worth protecting those prestine rockers, trust me!

I've decided to do up the piggy nice. My goal is to paint it Pumpkin and Cygnus at home. I've just painted my M101 Pumpkin Orange to motivate me to get the truck to match it. otherwise I look like I stole a DPW trailer.

Also have a lead on a nice 2F that only needs some gaskets. low miles and good compression numbers. Engine replacement surgery should start by December.

Hoping to have all that done by May of next year. once the snow flies the pig is on blocks and going to get a nice pimping.

This is more of a self motivational post since I hate not finishing what I say I will do. Now I'm screwed.

Yep! That's partly why I post up my plans also. Helps keep me on track. Plans sound great, can't wait to watch the progress.
