@Delancy he's not being smug. It is new never been installed (I have seen it) and that is the difference between his item and 447xPro's item.

I don't have a sample.. I would love have one in both my 45 and 40 though..
I'm just giving him a hard time for not listing for double, which it'd fetch in certain circles. That, and I'm jealous, having celebrated lesser victories and self loathing for not hanging onto one.
UPDATE. I Just purchased the top plate. I live in an area with some of the best machine shops around. Orthopedic capital of the world. Anyway, I will take the plate to a few shops and get prices to reproduce before using. I have no idea if I can afford the endeavor or want to afford it, however I will give it a shot for our mud community. If I decide that I do not want to spend the cash after doing some research, I will loan it to Brent aka @teleskier to reproduce if he is still interested in taking on the challenge.
I'm in for a reproduction in the 800-1250 range.

This post has follows the path of one fellow Mudder who tired to pull of the effort. I think he eventually gave up and offered the CAD up for sale for 750 bucks.

In regards to the fabricating, I will ask around here in Austin. My friend owns Austin Speed Shop and has all the connections. He owes me a HUGE favor. All he does is fabricate parts for hot rods. Jesse James of West Coast Choppers is his employee. They should know all about the fabricating side of things - with a CNC-ready 3d scan CAD data file and a reasonable shop, one off parts should not be completely prohibitive. I could be wrong though... not my area of expertise.
