This is probably rarer, if it ever existed....
Lol

Twin stick shifter for a front PTO and independent shifter for center PTO. It's fully functional on my brothers FJ55.

In my feeble mind I recall seeing some ancient Toyota marketing photos of front and rear PTO attachments, trying to remember what the heck you do w/ a center PTO...

It's made primarily for a water pump for the LC fire engines, but my brothers idea is a rear bumper mounted Margarita machine.

I cannot argue the merits of the PTO margarita attachment, but wouldn't that be rear PTO?

In the Toyota exploded views, it is listed as a center PTO, but it does go to the rear.

Georg, hand carry that sucker!

@Racer65: Have you given any thought to reproducing the 60 series 4/5 speed outer transmission boot and metal ring?

That is another needed part for a 5 speed conversion, if using the 60 series shifter cane. Took me a bit to track down a used one for another 5 speed conversion project.

Are these that hard to find? From 4/85 on all the 60 series have the same boot used 11/84 on in other market when the transmission rotated. Thing the 10/82-5/85 would work too. These have a larger footprint. The three boots used on the 60 series oldest on the left and newest on the right.

That's pretty much it... Just an added bend to the right...

@Living in the Past, all other shifter boots except the late 60 boots are available as OEM parts or reproductions.

The 85-87 outer shift boot would be a good Racer product to reproduce- for any 60 owner or anyone who would be using a ‘fat’ 60 series shifter cane for the h55 swap.

Didn't realize there was a shortage in the used market? Other than the larger footprint believe the earlier (10/82-4/85) would work. All the corners are the same size, 4/85-7/87 the back left corner is rounded. Searched other markets for 70 series transmission boots but like the late 60 series the best so collected a few. Exploring other shifters as well. The 60 series is wider so angle to the left more than 40 series. The rotated transmission also moves it further to the left on a non rotated 40 series.

If this works, I’ll sell my oem cover!

Are you saying you have a have 40 series H55F top cover? If you plan on selling your OEM cover and buying a reproduction to make a profit the time to sell is now and gamble the new ones get made. Price will drop on the old ones with a new option. If your spending the money to buy a new transmission most would perfer a new top to go with it. If reproductions are done well a used one will be worth less in my option.

Yes, I have one. I’m sure oem values will go down if aftermarket options exist but it doesn’t make sense to sell this until the clone effort is realized. People have been talking about this for many years! Long enough that I was able to find and buy one, lol.

Have one myself with most everything else that makes the five speed work and no plans to sell them. I also said gamble new ones get made as I have followed the multiple threads over the years. But if you want cash in for the big bucks need to do it before one of the multiple projects out there looking this comes to market.

Dual PTO's? I didn't know that was possible. That is so cool. What were all of the attachments for the PTO? I've always wanted a front-mounted snow blower powered by the PTO.

I think Cruisers outfitted as fire trucks were sometimes found with additional rear or center PTO, presumably for fire truck-ish like accessories (pumps, etc).
