Does a V8 diesel count??? :)

pbgbottle, it's a 2002 GM 6.5 center mount turbo with the later amg block (the amg block was the last & best version of this block and had all the issues from earlier blocks worked out). This is the same engine found in the military fully armored humvee's. Moves my 5500lbs 40 easily ;)

Wow, there are some amazing 40's on this thread!

I will throw up a few pics of my new ride. 1976 FJ40, since I purchased it I have done a lot of cosmetic work, added rear seat, stereo, KBS under carriage, and a lot of polishing. Previous owner did not have much attention to detail. Engine compartment is next project, needs to be cleaned up along with fresh coat of Durbak inside the tub.

Cruiser has ARB lockers front and rear, SOA, 35" MTR's, H55 5 speed trans, tcase is 2 spd late model I believe, Man a fre cage and 28 gallon fuel tank, Stock 350 w/Qjet - HEI, Painless harness, and a few other items. Such a fun rig, really enjoying having one back in my garage :)

here is mine. Its got a 350 from a 90 suburban, and I put vortec heads on it. Runs great. Bit of a basket case, though.

Wow thats real old school, got the side dumps and all...Yes you may want to do some stabilization on the old unit, Looks cool as is but looks like it is time to douse a little rust converter on and spray some undercoat on afterwards..Just a thought, you might want to get a new winch bumper for that 8274, JT Outfitters got them darn cheap but they are good and it would drop that winch down a bunch and not block the airflow so much..Or not. And like mine you obviously go against the grain and put the skinny side up on that headlight grill. Yes that's a Man's 40 but it may be time to preserve it's look.

Yeah, it is old school. It was my grandpas for a bunch of years, and it sat in his back yard for ~10 years in the phoenix sun. Considering that, its not nearly as roached as you'd expect, but its far, far from pretty. Rubbers are shot, etc.

I've got it running reliably and consistently, so I'm happy with that for now. At the moment my property doesn't have a garage, so I'm waiting for that to progress before I really start on body work. I do plan to replace fenders, quarters, and paint it. Thanks for the tip on the bumper. This one was sort of thrown together with whatever one of the PO's had, so I would like to get a professionally made one down the line.

I do like the bezel like that, but I may switch it one day to see how I like it. Problem is the winch wires are going right through, so I can't flip it without unhooking the winch wires, and they're kind of roached, so they will end up breaking, and then I'm pulling the winch off, and yeah, it is staying for now. :p
