C'mon, but my Sombrero is gold man. Gold I say.

Hey..
I noticed that a few of you live in the same area that I do. (I live in Mission Hills by Presidio Park)
While I do not own an 80, i just bought a FJ60 to replace one that I owned a long time ago.
I am just sorting out what needs to be done on the 60, but I think maybe It would be cool to meet the local cruiser people at some point.
To me it never saved much money to buy tires on the net. Once you pay to have them mounted & balanced you will be about $50 less then if you would have just gone to the tire shop in the first place.
!! The other 4 are in a black hole.. And how long do you think you will last before re-gearing?

So you say you have the 35"s and stock 4:10s? Do you drive it daily. Im already set to do the gears but the labor is pricey, sheesh! How is it getting on the fwy? What happens on a steep grade, can you only go like 55 mph?

. I can hold a decent speed on the Cajon Pass and the 241 toll road which is steeper. You just have to rev it out a little more. I also like the fact that I can cruise at 80 very close to the optimal rpm 2600. Also if you have the time an inclination you can pull the 3rd members and take them to a shop to have the gears set up for about half of the price.I finally dropped off the cruiser today. Should be picking her up on monday or tuesday. I held off on the re gearing. I would rather use the money for a bumper or two at this point. I put the spare 35" in the back and now I have no cargo room. I basically "need" a rear bumper now (w/ a spare carrier). Im thinking Hanna, whatever is cheapest. Nothing cheap about an 80
Hanna is a great choice and if you were really looking to save money you could even drive and pick it up to save on shipping.quote]
Yout think it would be less gas really than $200 or so for shipping? I was wondering about this.

Yeah just the 5" comp lift from OME, skid plate from SOR, custom built sliders, and a bunch of PM stuff. PM stuff that I dont have the skills to do. I ended up getting the other 4 Hankooks from Discount and 5 Eagle Alloys. Where do you guys put your spares if you dont have a bumper. For example ISTHATALEXUS has a 6" w/ 35s where is his spare?
