Upgrade to the 93 and up calipers and rotorsHi, Anyone have part nos. for 1991 fj80 ? Thanks, Mike
No. The Eclipse come loaded. These guys are saying the parts that fit into the cast cores are bunk. The cores are fine, it's the pot metal and other allegations that have people worked into a lather. Beno is deeper into it than any of us, but he has a known salty attitude and a glass half empty outlook. He is a good guy and the expert on most things part number, but you are only likely to find salt if you suggest anything non-toyota except maybe the power steering cooler, which I say you don't need in the first place.Do i need the overhaul kit and pistons if you get the reman caliper
You forgot to say that he's always correct.Beno is deeper into it than any of us, but he has a known salty attitude and a glass half empty outlook. No argument there. He is right. If you want the best, go Mr. T. If you can't swing the price tag, then there are some decent alternatives and this was one of them. That's all I was trying to say.You forgot to say that he's always correct.
I've been doing this for a long time and can say with certainty that with VERY few exceptions, OEM is better than aftermarket.
Need to have cerekote applied once they're cleaned up...freakin newb!This sh!t ....

Kind of kidding about the red. I'll stay with black.Which color to paint calipers: Black if you want the covert look.
Red if you want to look like you're driving a Lamborghini
Seems that it doesn't matter much either way, they aren't all that visible
with stock wheels. So personal preference??
Trivia point; I installed a set of Toyota Reman'd front calipers on my 96 80
almost 10 years and 65,000 miles ago. Still working fine however the ?yellow
zinc coating has oxidized to a dark color. Paint might have kept them
newer looking longer.
Well, I paid less for OEM remanufactured calipers (including the core charge) than the NAPA ones I returned because they were crap.I installed the Eclipse Calipers, new pads, and rotors from NAPA. So far they are working great. I was having break issues and the new calipers solved it. Personally I think it was a good purchase.

Total including shipping for OEM was $204.92
Total including shipping for NAPA was $256.73.
And OEM rotors are a whole $2 more than the NAPA parts.
I love math.
You should try reading this thread from the beginning. All your questions will be answered. Two bills for OEM calipers shipped? Can you let us in on which calipers you're referring to, and the source? I'm assuming you mean just one axle, or one corner? The prices I'm seeing online seem higher than what you found. I'm hoping to replace all of my calipers before too long, and I was planning to go with NAPA primarily due to price.
My question was which caliper/s you are saying were a total of $205, and which particular OEM supplier gave you that price. You should try reading this thread from the beginning. All your questions will be answered.
