Hey Everyone,
Just an update of what's been going on. I've purchased two E90 BMW seats and I've been researching the pinouts. I pray they're heated... I'm originally from Calgary and it's damn cold there so fingers crossed!

Just purchased my R2.8 today. I've got my NV4500 (32 spline 2000s chevy) sitting on a pallet at work. I also bought an 80 series power steering box (copying Sheck 44).

The truck itself is almost entirely stripped down. So I've started sanding everything now.

Also, I'm having a tough time deciding on paint, so I bought 5 different colours in spray cans so I can try them out. Right now I'm leaning towards Porsche Gulf Blue, but who knows what I'll decide on.

I noticed on Cummins website that they are offering a $1,500 discount right now for the crate engine setup looks like they are trying to move them. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get your R2.8 (PM me if you want)??? I was told by Cummins that they could not ship to Texas. They sent me to Summit Racing and Summit said they can't price right now because they are not stocking currently. I was considering shipping to a friend in Oklahoma and then going and picking up.

Hey Amico, that's right! So I paid $7500 for it (8200 after taxes). I'm having it shipped to the Cummins dealer in Lake Charles, Louisiana. They said I could just come pick it up from them and they'd forklift it into my truck.

Did you purchase thru the Lake Charles Cummins Sales / Service Center or thru Cummins direct and they arrange the shipping to Lake Charles???

I had to buy it direct from the website. Apparently that's the only way they're sold, according to a Cummins Sales Rep.

Thanks, I will probably purchase and ship to their Shreveport Cummins Sales/Service Center. It is closer for me than Lake Charles. I don't understand the problem with shipping to Texas but whatever.

Yeah me neither... might have something to do with the rules on diesel conversions. Can't remember where I read it, but you can't do a diesel conversion on a car newer than '76

Picked up my R2.8 yesterday from Lake Charles. Maybe a bit too much weight for my Taco haha.

Congrats! super cool.

[edit: i realize now that I found this via a search, and this was posted almost a month ago. lol. but congrats nonetheless!]

Decisions, decisions...

I'm not considering the white except for the grille bezel/wheels

I'm really leaning towards the VW Gulf blue at the moment. Shame it's not a Toyota Color though

Go with the Toyota blue. That'd look nice!

Nice shop btw...excited to see this build get going!

Arthur, just an up on my engine to a fellow Texan. I ordered my engine to transmission Adapter from Quick Draw because I am using a new H55 and while on the phone with Chad he told me he could get me my new Cummins Crate engine. Blew me away because he could sell at the new lower price and I don't have to drive to Shreveport Louisiana to pickup, it will be delivered locally. Also saved me quite a bit of cash. Chad is really one heck of a great guy to deal with. Expecting my engine next day or two. Anyone looking to make this swap can't go wrong by dealing with Chad.

Amico! Looking good man. I'm working with Chad right now to get an adapter for my NV4500. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for your H55? Did it come with the split case as well?

I had a Split Case out of a 1986 FJ60 that I sent it out to Georg Esterer (Cruiser Brothers) in California had him completely rebuild my split case and attach it to a new H55 that he sold me. The H55 was a little less than $2,600. I thought about the NV4500 but the H55 setup is 4 to 5 inches shorter than the NV4500. I wanted to keep my rear drive shaft as long as possible and wanted to minimize tranny hump modifications. I am hoping to use my existing 4 speed tranny mounts which looks like same bolt locations for the H55.
