I am in SoCal...would you be willing to help me with this mod if I get my hands on some vents? Small fee? Food? Beer?

haha, I still have the template we used and I have yet to find the time to make a PDF of it so anyone can go to kinkos and print it out. Guys, its really easy. Its about two-ish hours of work to do. Trust me when I say you will spend more time calling up the courage to chop up your hood. And I had to do this at DR GIL's place because I have the HOA Nazi's preventing me from touching my truck.

I'm up for the mod as well, just need the definitive model that the vents come from, not being too familiar with your models across the pond it is hard for me to dig them out on eblag. Of course a printed template would help with mustering the courage to get in the with a jigsaw.

regards

Dave

Definitely interested in this. Would be happy to be able to print the template. Sorry if I missed this in the thread, but is there a reason not to install it with the scoops forward? Thanks!

The vents are installed by design to let out heat, not act as an air scoop and force air into the engine compartment.

I need a template too please...Im in so cal and am wiling to drive... just would feel better cutting up the hood with a little bit of guidence...thanks

Damn, seeing the lineup, glad I got in early. I've gotten may nice comments on the vents around town, once people realize they are not bling stick-ons from Pep Boys, but functional pieces. My dad asked me if I would help him cut vents in his Sequoia hood... :D

FWIW, I notice MUCH more air flow from the passenger side vent versus the driver side when idling under hot conditions.

I'm pretty sure he said he was dying to install a bunch more!!

I think Joey is still having altitude delirium from his long flight to Amsterdam.

I'm in Woodland Hills, Ca. So whoever wants the template, pm me and we'll make arrangements for you to get the template to use and pass it on.

Thanks Gil!!!

I'll finish up this weekend. The template works perfectly, and is simple and easy to line up. PS vent is in, & something came up yesterday and I had to abort on the DS. I'm already noticing slightly lower intake and water temps  (it was 90º something here yesterday). Better pics coming from a real camera. GTP vents sprayed Toyota Magnetic Gray:

Sweet, glad my crude drawings skills worked out!!

Yes, it lined up perfectly!! I didn't know who originally drew it, but thank you for your skills! I was tempted to trace your template onto something more durable like cardboard, but did not get around to it before it left my hands...I'm not sure how long it will hold up, but at least it's in a poster tube now.

Tim aka calfj60 has it now.
