This going to be a crappy intro, but I couldn't wait! Gonna be my new daily as soon as I give her some TLC. 1986 original owner! More specs and questions to come.

Wow she looks beautiful! Congrats!

nice , the wheels look cool on there to. I have a set of those white wheels in storage that I want to clean the rust off and color match the paint and get them mounted up.

Thanks. I've been wanting to take more pics but I leave before sunrise and get home after sunset. Known issues as of right now:

1. Front rotors and pads are shot. Parts are on order.
2. Need to adjust the valves. Reading up on that.
3. Steering has a ton of play in it. Gonna have a look this weekend and determine what's the issue.

More pics and probably some questions coming Friday.

Looks great. Is the frame clean? Please don't lift it...

Yeah please don't, but do get your new Toy some New rear springs, major rear bum sag. My DD is an 86' Runner, I love it, brings back good childhood memories of traveling in my moms 86 4Runner.

Was going to lift it with an OME lift but might just buy new springs for now. The main goal for now is just get everything in working order. I crawled up under it and it's leaking a lot of oil from every where! Lol. I've got the parts to do the brakes. I'm planning on putting a list together of all the parts and seals that I need to do everything. Is there a master seal kit for the engine and trans? And the most important thing is...what's the best way to remove the top! It's beautiful here and want to take advantage of the weather.
As far as rust goes I only found two spots. One is on the windshield as you can see in the pic and the other is under the rear tailgate. Sorry for crappy pics.

Yeah, it's a leaker! Priority number one, take care of those rust spots. To remove top, just unbolt and lift up. As I recall they are heavier than you might expect, so the help of a friend would be nice. NW offroad sells replacement springs with little to no lift for these.

What about just using new factory springs? If there still available. I work for toyota so I get parts for cheap. I also forgot to ask about doing the supra afm swap. If I get an after market intake does it take away the advantages of swapping to a supra afm? Or should I keep it stock, use supra afm, and drop in a k&n filter?

To reduce the rear squat on my old runner I just added an add-a-leaf, brought up the back end and was a better ride.

Great looking truck Waterboy. I'm in Coral Springs, I have an 88, if you need help for any big jobs let me know.

I know the leaking oil issue. Mine was at a quart every 10 days. I personally would wash off the engine and look for the spots where it's leaking. Also check the hoses as the alternator to make sure their working fine. But when I did my gaskets I did the Valve cover an oil pan and went from there. As for a master set I haven't seal one for seals and gaskets but I could be wrong.

Nice clean rig and those rims are really cool.

Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately I don't think I'll get all my parts before I leave for work. So I guess I'll start stock piling parts to get this thing ready for daily duty. Any tips and recommendations are welcomed.

Ok so I was driving around today heard an unusual rattle. At first I thought it was the rusted out exhaust. Came home and popped the hood and made this crappy video. Is that sound the timing chain? Advice needed. Thanks

Hope this link works. Haha..

I forgot to add that will doing this I put some Marvel Mystry Oil additive. Know I have seen people use Seafoam and had smoke coming out the tail pipe. I noticed some smoke but looked more like steam. Im assuming that means a head gasket also needs to be replaced?
