Do I pull the tub...
mel lowe, is the top picture in post #111 34th heading north. I rented a house for a few years on the corner of 35th St and 7th Ave and that sure looks like the way I used to call home. The funny thing is my neighbor had an old light blue 60 series and he worked in the rain forests of S.America most of the time. His name was Eduardo I believe, and I think he still has that rig. Are you the original owner of the Mellow Mushroom? I remember that place opening up my last year at UF and wondering where it had been the previous 4 years (...or so) of school. You guys blow Leonardo's out of the water. Hopefully this year we get up to football game and have some more MM again. I've said it every year since I left...but this is the year. I left gville driving a lowered civic (everybody say it at once 'the fast and the furious'), but the only thing I knew about cruisers was I almost bought a '75 for my first car. It wasn't until I started working on Southeast Toyats's boats in S.Florida that I got into the cruisers again (sort of). Bought an 80 series and fell in love all over again. I'm working on an '82 40 now and I have a lot of welding to do. I already have the metal for both floor pans and the rear tub floor. The question is, do I pull the tub (and do it the right way) or do I leave the tub on and weld around everything else. Also, this is the project I plan to learn to weld on. I've spent the last year on the engine and PS. I think I know the correct answer but...I just want to start driving the truck. Anyway, your truck looks great. Your work schedule makes me feel like I treat my 40 like a red-headed step child. You've given me the motivation to bust a$$ on it again. Good luck.
