I'm not sure why the fit is so bad with those, I've never seen them be that loose. Did your foam shrink or something? Maybe you missed some hog rings?94 with manual seats. Selected the manual seat option. Bottom fots well, there is a lot of extra material to the top. Not super happy but for $350 its fine. Ive had land cruiser hheaven in my 100 and Katzkin in my Tacoma. These fit worst of the three but are also the cheapest. Go figure

Im sure the foam is worn, but not by that much. Adding foam is the plan at this pointI'm not sure why the fit is so bad with those, I've never seen them be that loose. Did your foam shrink or something? Maybe you missed some hog rings?
You could tighten them up by removing them, laying down 1/2 foam on all surfaces, and then reinstalling. Not only do you gain cushion, but they would fit better.
Roughly like this.... Just used spray adhesive to keep the foam in place while installing the leather.

This.Dampen the upper real thoroughly and set in the sun to dry. It'll tighten up nice.
Learned the hard way with my motorcycle leathers years ago that you don't let wet ones dry in the sun (i.e. shrinkage). Later leveraged that knowledge when putting Lseat leather in two Hundy's. I throw them in the washing machine for a rinse cycle before install, then once install set the seat in the sun so they shrink down ohhh so perfectly. Generally, damp leather is easier to work with during fitting, for finely positioning the stitching locations, etc.

I didn’t use this brand but when I did mine a few years ago I did a very thorough steaming. Take a long time on this step.
I did not read the full thread but did you do this. This step is very important, and amazing.
For my install it made the seats so plump that the leather was crazy hard to install with an extremely tight fit. I would weary of adding foam, I did try to fill one tiny dent BUT if it’s not perfect and there are any seam (spacing as there can be no gaps and it must be shaved and contoured) lumbar issues, you will have to do it again. You will know about the seams and feel them.
After install, if tight, beat them into place and then steam the wrinkles, all very carefully of course.
Lseat covers for the 100 are genuine leather... real leather doesn't peel. Peeling is an issue with pleather; the vinyl outer material (so-called leather) flakes and separates from the underlying fabric substrate. Basically, 99% of car seats these days are actually fake leather, including the original Hundy seats.Has anyone had problems with lseat covers peeling?
I've had the same issue - some color wear after three (4?) years, but the leather is in great shape.Lseat covers for the 100 are genuine leather... real leather doesn't peel. FWIW my two sets of Lseat leather, which each have ~5 years of exposure to Texas heat, have not had any structural issues. However, some color has worn out in the usual high wear spots from vehicle entry and exit.
I don't.Do you either of you clean & condition the leather 1x or 2x a year?
but good enough for 300,000 mile truckfor $395 for two seats its probably not the highest quality/grade leather.
My butt polishes it - no other care. I don't think their dyeing process is going to give the artisans at Rolls Royce any worry about competition. For the price, I can't complain.Cool thanks for posting up the pictures.![]()
Seems whoever they buy the leather from has a sub par tanning process. While its called "Genuine Leather " (LSeat says from Cow,) for $395 for two seats its probably not the highest quality/grade leather.
Wonder if how you care for it makes a difference in wear. Do you either of you clean & condition the leather 1x or 2x a year?
