Not sure why everyone wants to deal with a shady company like LSSeats vs. just going to your local upholstery shop. I had my tint guy tell me about a local upholstery shop that I was not familiar with. Went there today and they can two my first two rows for $1200. That is real leather that matches the factory pattern. My leather is not terrible, but it will need to be replaced t some point. I will go this route when it is time.

Ask around local car dealers in your area and see who they recommend for upholstery. Then go get a quote.
Because at $1,200 you're double that of LSeats. From those who have gotten LSeat covers they speak very highly of them and to what has been read, they are genuine leather as well. $1,200 is a lot of money even if they're done well; not that it isn't worth it but it is a good chunk of money. Some people like saving money if possible.

Quick question about heated seats. Is the “heater” adhered to the underside of the cover or is it adhered to the seat cushion?

The pics you posted look great. I am hesitant to pull the trigger on replacements. I ordered the Cordova fabric (extreme heavy duty) covers from Shear Comfort but the fitment pictures on the website were nowhere near what arrived. They were non returnable and the fitment was horrible. Functionally they are great for protecting the leather but aesthetically they’re terrible.

I wish I had seen this post. I just got my shearcomfort seat covers and they ****ing suck. I didn’t even bother trying to install them fully. But I just read that I have to in order to send them pictures to justify why their s***ty liar of a product needs to be refunded. I do not recommend them at all ever.

Ordered a seat cushion cover and it turned out very good. Has a video that makes DIY installation possible.
Guy makes them in his home/shop and ships them out. Sent him my center console cover to use as a pattern. He'll be able to do those as well.

I did the lseats and am pleased for the price. Did not take long to receive. Maybe 3 weeks. Came with seats, armrest and center console leather. The bisque color is a tad lighter than the original but most recommended that color and I didn’t get samples. Wondering if they have a little darker color? Overall not bad and better than expensive seat covers.

Nice looking install. Were you able to salvage the seat heaters and reuse?

Sorry mine is an fzj80. No seat heaters. Bought some aftermarket heaters to use along with factory switches from a ls400? I think

Wanted to share my experience (no affiliation with them).
  • 1/19 - requested swatches
  • 1/20 - request confirmed by Lseat
  • 2/2 - asked for status and was told they'd shipped
  • 2/17 - swatches received and order for front seats and 3 sq ft of hide in BISQUE placed ($341.50 shipped)
  • 2/25 - order shipped
  • 3/8 - order received via FedEx in Atlanta, from Houston
They looked amazing, vacuum packed, leather felt very thick with nice, slightly padded black liner on the back and seat bottoms. Received more than 3 sq ft of extra hide; an unevenly cut scrap closer to 4 sq ft. I paid a local installer $400 for installation and to make a new center console cover from the scrap I bought. This included steaming seat foam, adding some foam to the driver's seat, and treating the leather with protector (Lexol I believe). Took him about 6 hours. He also packed up my old leather to save for possible future repairs to my 2nd or 3rd row, which are currently in excellent condition.

I am thrilled.

Thanks for the details. I have ordered swatches for my LX470. I look forward to replacing the seat covers. At $350 per set, I will be very patient with lseat.com. I just purchased a hoopty (E350) to driver when my truck is being repaired.

I liked my Lseats leather..Very much. I WOULD recomend getting some high density foam to cut for the bolsters on the seat sides, though- cut to size/shape (rough is OK) and use a 3m spray Styrofoam Glue to connect them together, then recover. Comfortable as Hell, and even my picky wife said WOW, THAT LOOKS GREAT. As if, She was surprised I was capable of such a feat. One recommendation, take "before" photos of the screw/bezel locations and power function cable routing BEFORE taking them apart. Easier to route them back in the right place when re-assembling.

I am about to order some seats from Lseat. I am going to get the bisque color and like how it matches, but what color thread is best? bisque as well? I may have missed it, but I can't see where anyone has told the thread color they chose. Thanks

Yes, bisque.

I know this is an Lseat thread and it seams like everyone likes this product. Before buying Lseats did anyone look into Landcruiser Heaven?
I’m looking for opinions on leather replacement but obviously Lseats are a good choice outside of the customer service issues.

Thanks

Just purchased from LSeat and took delivery 3 weeks later, Gray color on an 02 LC, totally pleased. My daughter couldn’t believe how it changed her LC.

The labor rate that my local upholstery shop charged me though, I was like come on guy am I paying for all of your slow down in business during the shutdown?

I always ask for an estimate first but since he had done great work in the past for reasonable I didn’t think it was necessary. 600 bucks for both front seat, arm rests, center console, head rests....

Ami out of line here, or is that the going rate?
