I do not believe it is pig leather, it feels like regular leather to me, but I am no expert. He just about swore it's from Columbian cattle. It just has a deeper grain than the original stuff. I got a sample from him before I purchased, and it seemed just as I described before. I don't know why he would use pig leather and say it was cow, as that would pretty much destroy his business for these covers. The money difference for the raw skins in Columbia would be negligible, and they need to be treated the same to get to the finished product.
It actually looks more like the full-grain leather (the optional 3-row real leather, not Softex) in my wife's 2016 T4R than the shiny smooth stuff in our Cruisers, which might be the source of the confusion. However, in the interest of putting the pig skin thing to rest, I will run the covers by a professional upholstery shop before I put them on and get their opinion.
I will say the promised 3-5 week turnaround time is BS, and you have to call him to get any update, he doesn't really do tech too well (email, posts here go unanswered or take some time to get answered). Phone calls get him right away, though. I called Frank a couple times and got him immediately answering the phone personally each time. It might take 3-5 weeks for them to be produced, but the shipping is the delay, the covers were held up in customs. Apparently, US Customs like to look at agricultural products shipped from Columbia for SOME reason.

My box had actually been opened enough to peek inside, and re-sealed.
Not ideal customer service, and not sure I would recommend the purchase because of that (unless he updated the delivery info on his page), but everything he said turned out to be truthful so far.
