@447xpro Any new updates on your 1UZ build? The ECU discussion and how to get proper engine management without the auto trans is what I am interested in. Thanks for any insight you can share.

I don’t have much to provide currently but look up guys converting ucf10 LS400s to manual. They use the auto ecu and usually use a z33 trans or r154 i believe with an adapter. I believe it is just jumping some pins to bypass the interlock.

You can buy bellhousings specifically made for W5x and R15x series transmissions to mate to UZ engines. That's what I'm doing on my swaps.
If I recall, it is not as hard to trick the OBD1 ECMs as it is OB2. Auto is only ECM since 1UZ never came with manual anywhere.

What motor mount are you using?

Any updates on this tread? Inquiring minds want to know.

Do you still have the details about how to get this setup?
I'm doing a 2UZ-FE + H42 (with future plans of H55) in my 40. I got a bellhousing from Dellow. Don't know what I am doing for clutch and flywheel yet.

I completed my 71 FJ40, 2006 2UZ vvti, H55f swap

Did you use the Dellow bellhousing?
No, I bought the bell and 300mm clutch assembly from Cruiser Parts for the non-USA 2UZ manual transmission. I had 1 inch milled off the trans end of the bell and then had a 1 inch plate welded back on. Then cut, drilled and tapped for the H55f. The H55f uses the long 3B fine spline input shaft. So far it works great with no problems at all!
