any updates on this moulded mat for flooring?

I saw a vinyl kit at Cool Cruisers of Texas?????? The bad thing is that it only comes in Gray and I need Brown. You gotta love UPS Brown.

I sprayed the floor of my 62 with durabak bed liner and love it, except for in the summer the floor gets warm around the tranny.

Esh, looks like I'll follow your lead in the re-power and the floor treatment. I'll be looking for some pics for fitment. I wonder if I could install the vinyl over my carpet?

I have dynamat, then 2 layers of carpet pading underneath my stock carpet. While not Lexus quiet, my truck is a good bit quieter than stock. I also dynamated the exterior door skins and quarters.

I was lax in getting a measurement to the Aus outfit with the floor. Hopefully it is on the way now. For some reason they wanted the height of the rear bracket for the front seats...

Anyways, I changed our plan a little. Got the Garrett stuff in and work is getting underway on the 1HZ. The change is I am doing a H55 that he already has rebuilt and a transfer.

With the factory transfer you have to remove the vacuum shift stuff to run an exhaust within the frame rails. He has a completed conversion for a 62 tcase, but even with the AUD exchange rate, a core + rebuild/vb/tc from Wholesale is 150% of an h55.

I kept having a nagging feeling about keeping things simple mechanically. As cool as it would be to have an A440 and all the nice extra overdrive and point-n-shoot control it gives, it just didn't feel like the right way to go. So he is intending to still do a 1HZ/A440 and now he's got the bellhousing/flex plate stuff to trade me for some manual setup bits.

We are still watching the AUD slide so it isn't quite a done deal yet, but continues to head that way.

Anyways, so my point is if you are doing the HZ/A440 deal, check to see about the bellhousing and what mods are needed to make the connection work. I think it will be a good setup. Kind of the other thing is I'd rather see money go into my friend's hands than overseas. Kind of an unusual arrangement because he's been my friend for so long but it feels right.

So when I get into the floor stuff I'll get pics and impressions in this thread. :)

Suck. Since I already have the Aus rebuilt a440, and my left leg is gimp (clutch) I'll need to continue with my hopes to do keep the slushbox. I was sure hopeful that you would work out the kinks me first! Do you know of anyone else that is thinking of mating up the 1HZ to an A440?

The more I think about vinyl up front the more I like it. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, I really think a well-cooled A440 would be ultimate setup. That is an awesome tranny behind an engine with enough power to deal with it.

Look in a TT near you for some info. :) You can also get in touch with lynchmob for what we were planning. The machining looked to be really minimal, and he still plans to do one like that.

esh - nice! between the stereo, 1HZ-T, vinyl flooring, etc - sounds like you will have one hell of a truck!

have any idea ETA for the flooring? mine is pristine (especially for 20+ y/o), but tempted if it looks good. I am planning some Damplifier in the near future - when you do your setup please post how you do it.

GL!

I pulled the trigger on this today. I recently got my 60 wet and the carpet became mouldy and smelly. They also have a website; All Car Carpets - Moulded Car Carpet & Vinyl

I also bought their waterproof underlay. I also want to put own some RAAMmat, but their local (Singapore) dealer isn't replying to emails or answering their phone. Might end up with Dynamat Extreme, although it is more $$ than I wanted.

post up som pics when you've installed the vinyl flooring.

That is the place I am using for the floor. I am working with David there.

I screwed up the works a little taking a long time getting back to them with a measurement and just sent them an email asking where they are at with the build.

Here is the site I was reading for the deadening materials comparison- Sound Deadener Showdown

Hope to have an update in a week or two.

I am waiting on mine to turn up. They said that it would take 2 weeks. Hopefully will be here this week. The RAAMmat is also on it's way from Singapore, but the company I bought it off said it takes 5-7 weeks shipping. Not sure how that can be possible though as when I was in Vietnam a couple of years ago I sent a package to myself and it only took a week and a half. I've have to believe that Singapore have better infrastructure than Vietnam......

I just realized that they are right in the middle of where all the arson-caused brush fires are, around Victoria. So I'm not going to expect much for a while.

Got a couple emails from David at All Car Carpets last night. He's busy fighting fires all around the area.

Did find that they also carry wheel well covers in vinyl and all the other varieties of carpeting.

My floor has already been shipped, so it shouldn't take long to arrive.
