Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Which Mudder best me to that 2016 White/ Terra LC in Denver today? I was supposed to meet the guy at 6:30. He called me at 6:24 after i drove across town to see it and told me it was sold.

Damn. Gotta be quick!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a shipping company to send a truck from the South West to Portland, ME? Any idea of what a ball park would be?

Call Summit Transport. They are land cruiser/MUD supporters. I've never used them, but they were LCDC sponsors and the owner seem like a great guy.

I've been in and out of the 200 market for about 5 years and this frenzy is making me wish I would have pulled the trigger a long time ago.

What's fueling it and is there any hope of it cooling off?

Fear of the 2022 Cruiser either not being offered for sale in the US At all or it being a neutered small displacement forced induction engine.

I don't think that is it, although it could be part of it. I think this is 100% COVID related. Everyone wants their offroad, go anywhere vehicle so they can go camping, hiking and get away from people, especially here in CO. The 200 is now in a price range where people are willing to give it more abuse than they would one that is $80-100k. Good examples at a fair price point are gone within 24-48 hours of being posted. Prices are definitely creeping up. Don't think I've ever seen that before with a mass produced vehicle that isn't at the bottom of its depreciation curve.

Newer cars (2018+) are much more readily available. But the 2013-2016 vintage for both LC and LX are very difficult to find right now, especially with my criteria (no black on interior or exterior).

I agree with this that it is COVID related, 100%.

It is beyond crazy. It’s gotten to the point where if any truck has been listed for longer than 3 days I think there must be something wrong with it. A ‘13 and ‘15 200 popped on Carmax on Tuesday am. I went into a dentist apt, and by the time I got out both were NLA. The ‘14 below that checked all my boxes showed up on Tuesday night and the rush I felt. At 11pm est calling AZ for details. Then realizing I couldn’t go out there this weekend, and shipping it back made things too complicated / expensive. My wife said, “well maybe you can go next week,” and the first thing that went through my head was, “well if it’s still for sale next week, I probably don’t want it.” Crazy.

You and I may be looking for the same truck, Chew. 2016 or 2017, no black anywhere. Good luck my friend.

The one I missed out on this week was this one, he just hasn't taken down the ad yet (I just texted him to confirm it's gone). I missed getting a great deal by a few minutes.

This may not be the area of the forum to ask, but can someone run a service history on this truck?

This is still available in Salt Lake I think.

You may already be aware but if serviced at Toyota or Lexus, you can run yourself by setting up a profile at the Lexus and Toyota owners sites.

Thanks LXstalker. I actually though that you had to be an Toyota or Lexus owner to have access.

Edit to add: I successfully ran the VIN on this 2016. No records since December 2019 and photos show "Maintenance Required, Visit Your Dealer" dash warning.

Luckily no....

A couple things to consider:
1/If a Toyota serviced at Lexus or Lexus serviced at Toyota it will not pull into the history. (*edit* just ran across a Lexus that pulled in some of the Toyota service record but not all).
2/You can’t enter a Toyota VIN into Lexus owner site and vice versa.
3/not all dealerships report to Carfax.

Some of the service history is like putting together a puzzle.

And also, I have found you actually need to click on the service dates to see everything. Even if you “d/l all,” it may leave out important bits about accidents or major repairs. Or deferred items. It can be time consuming to go through everything, but a lot can be learned from the “customer states,” additions.
