Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

It’s absolutely a matter of supply/demand when it comes to the GX and LX. Once GX supply catches up they are going to depreciate. It’s pretty easy to get an LX right now.

As for 200’s, this one actually closed for a relative bargain if you ask me.

I was tied up on a work call during those last 15 minutes but would have been tempted with it still being under $100k. 🙈
How is this a relative bargain? Relative to what?

If I understood the comments right, the winner of the auction previously owned that same truck and sold it at BAT to a guy that sold to another guy, which was the seller at this auction.

What in the world is going on? People are just playing merry-go-round with HE LCs?? 😅

BAT never disappoints!

People are buying these things like they're Rolex's and trying to flip them quickly when the market ticks up 1-2%. Honestly insane.

Relative to 200's. $98k is still a lot of dough but on a HE with a clean bill of health, OEM+ build and 20k miles I can be talked into paying that compared to say $89k on a example with 70k miles.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I am opposed to renting a car to someone for 20k miles for free.

Agree, it was a relative value for that buyer. But ultimate value is in the eye of the beholder. Also, that HE was not offered to you at $98k. You could have engaged in the bidding at or above $98k, but that would have resulted in a higher purchase price for someone, potentially materially higher?

I think it is interesting how much everyone here continues to say low-mileage HEs are overvalued. I would not pay $130k for the ones that have gone that high, But that does not mean I will ever find one below that price. Logic says supply continues to go down assuming someone is driving them. The same ones trading repeatedly on BAT is not new supply.

sold for $98.5k plus (maybe fees of $4,925) and is for sale one day later "on the lot" at a dealership in Knoxville Tenn. The BS in this 200 market is at new levels. WHO THE **** is buying from these guys that wasn't watching that auction one day earlier?

WTF? Is this real? How about the winner of the auction claiming they missed her and were happy it was coming back home? Pretty fast burst of happiness if you ask me.

@Specialeyes was on the money. These are the "new Rolex."

I'm thinking there are private individuals that are collaborating with dealers. The private individual takes all the risk with purchasing the vehicle. Then they put it on consignment with their local dealer to help them sell it at massive profit to a much broader / different market (some folks will never buy a vehicle at auction for whatever reason, but they will buy from a dealer no problem).

The dealer is more than fine with this arrangement - they get their cut of the sale with little to no risk. It also explains the massive markup we've been seeing with some of these listings popping up at used car dealers, and the overall inflation of HE pricing.

You guys...I bought the Land Cruiser LOL! I literally ran it through my dealership to purchase the truck. This was my truck previously and I had all the work done with Eric at Ed Martin. I only sold it because, it just sat in my garage never being driven. After I sold it I had serious remorse and my youngest daughter was very upset with me as this LC was our family road tripper. My kids grew up with BMW's and we always had a Land Cruiser in the family. We are all oddly emotionally connected to her. I could literally buy just about anything but the Cruiser is the one that truly rolls with a soul. Hence why it's coming back home. I wish I didn't have to stock the truck in as my sales team as been inundated with calls only to disappoint customers. I am going to attempt and find another to list it for those who have called.

Not that you owe anyone an explanation but I'm genuinely curious as to why you wanted to bring it into inventory? I thought maybe it was a tax move but dealers do in fact pay taxes on their inventory. It's your business at the end of the day but that aside, congrats on being able to bring it home at a decent price as I'm sure you've seen that the already inflated 200 market has gone bonkers this year.

Running it through the dealership just makes life easier. We handle all the paperwork, verify the title is clean (no liens/issues), calculate/pay taxes correctly and you avoid the DMV completely. I haven't been to DMV in years for a vehicle transaction, nor do I have the time. Time is money as they say.
You can do it yourself, but one mistake can turn into multiple trips and delays. This way it’s done right the first time 👍 I get it why the LC is in such demand. We purposely avoid buying the newer LC as they don't make us any money and collect dust. When we do get one, customers complain how noisy it is getting up to speed, etc.,etc... Anytime we get a nice 5.7L Tundra or LC, they are gone quick.

this dealer is an absolute joke.

theres another white HE in san antonio, with 10k less miles for $73k and hes at $86k. when he told me this over text i declined to purse it and laughed and said good luck. this morning right off with the text..what price do you want to be at? i told him i'm not competing with retards who would pay this, and told him there were 2 white ones with similar mileage for $73k and $69k. he told me they were "1500 miles away". sent him links, San Antonio and alabama, 40 miles and 798 miles away. "the first one doesnt exist" i shared with him photos from dealer the day before and said "even if it did sell yesterday did it sell for $13k over asking"...."i'll pass this along to sales dept"...i'm just sick of these guys..20% over APPLES TO APPLES trucks 30 mins away and they just play dumb. AT least appolgizie. no one on MUD would buy from this jackass, but christ.

I went to look at the one in San Antonio today but it wasn’t on the lot, getting its PPF removed. Hopefully it’ll be there tomorrow.

Has that black roof yeah?
It did before yesterday. They said it still had the roof rack. Looks to have been well maintained based on the service history. I was actually leaning towards the LX before this one popped up close by. We’ll see how it looks in person.

Looks slightly rough but on par for the miles. Need to check undercarriage, since no pics there.

LOL. Thanks for clarifying. You gotta admit, the comment plus the cruiser being listed the next day was puzzling. Looks like you paid almost $15k more than what you sold for, but the PO made some good upgrades that might justify the added money. Glad that it is staying with a fellow mudder, as opposed to one of those greedy dealers cornering the market to flip them. Take good care of her.

So, long story short. I sold this truck to the seller for much more money than I originally paid for it. I actually made money by buying it back and he put roughly $8k into it. Full PPF Front and fender, windshield and full 5yr ceramic coat. He also installed a Hamilton Carplay, remote start and proximity alarm system. Bonus is the Toyoda sticker on the back window I asked him to leave on. I have had so many calls on this Cruiser and could have easily sold it for much more. But, she is coming back home to the family.
:)
