Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Need to see more pictures with the truck on a lift but it looks about how you'd expect a salted road LC200 to look. Surface rust on every weld and on many of the bolts.

This one is borderline. If he's willing to throw some money at it post-acquisition to have the frame wire wheeled or dry ice blasted and then painted it will probably be OK. But again hard to say anything definitive from one picture.

Rusted bolts are the bigger concern and he could be dealing with a lot of headaches come time to work on the vehicle. If it's a LC as opposed to a LX he should check the KDSS valves to see how rough they look. Would also recommend testing the spare tire and checking the hitch receiver.

These things are rust buckets like most Toyotas. Even desert trucks rust in many common spots. Unless the owner is extremely meticulous with prevention they are going to get crusty.

Edit: What is the seller asking for it? What year and miles?

Like I said, he pretty much bought it on a whim. We had talked about 200's but I didn't know he was that serious. I was out with my family and didn't see him trying to text and call me, and when I looked it was a bunch of screenshots that he had won the auction 😂 then I think he experienced some buyers remorse on the drive home due to comparing it to his Tesla, and a few of the common complaints with these (HVAC controls, lack of storage space for random things while you drive, outdated/somewhat clunky infotainment system). He has liked it more and more over the past few days, but isn't sure if he wants to keep it yet.
BAT is so dangerous that should come with a warning label. 😅

It will be interesting to see what happens here. This is a rare bird as a base model 300 series (no AHC).

Time to open a 300 section in the Classifieds?

That TTV6 is still spooky and will keep the price down I bet.

The 700h feels much safer as the hybrid setups seem to have avoided any widespread issues.

After a few more years of good ol' fashioned depreciation I'll be hunting for one of these that's still running the original motor.

$48k at that year, mileage and rust level is a pass for me but I'm less familiar with the LX market.
Agreed.

I want one of these 4-5 years from now.

My guess is this one might go for around 90?

This engine recall is going to be the "Porsche and IMS bearing" saga. Every damn 996 auction has a "has the IMS bearing been replaced?"

Seller: I was not familiar with this recall, which has apparently affected a ton of Toyota/Lexus vehicles.

True.

That is smart, but it won't be easy to find one. There were so few no-AHC/base trims.

That was hilarious. :D Agree that will probably reach $90k, potentially not even meeting reserve. Based on the sellers answer about the engine recall, they might be a bit over optimistic when setting reserve.
