Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

The damage has been done with the TTV6. You are going to have a hard time convincing enthusiasts to spend six figures on that powertrain especially out of warranty.

It’s a bad situation for Toyota but they massively dropped the ball with that engine and it’s going to take some time to come back from it.

Agreed. Now that might be a good thing if you’re a risk taker. Market won’t go insane with the pricing.

similar thing happened with the 991.1 GT3. The engines had multiple issues and Porsche ended up replacing a lot of engines and offered a 10 year warranty on it…which is mostly done by now.
damage is done and people are reluctant to touch those cars.

I saw this car on a local highway when coming home from work; smiled since it was an identical spec LC HE and you don't see many on Long Island. Had to Google the dealer and when it didn't show up, figured it was a recent purchase.

Bookmarking this for the next time my wife claims I'm irresponsible with my car purchases.

I disagree, but I guess we will see. IMO the whole TTV6 engine issues will be contained to the 2022-2024 LX600 models - those will unfortunately suffer from some stigma (speaking of LXs of course, not Tundras). I doubt they have not figured that out by now. There is a lot of click bait strategy going on YT right now by the so called "journalists" or youtubers posting content and salivating for clicks. These guys can't wait for the next recall that I personally think is not coming. Again, we will see.

Probably a line of people interested in this one already. Seems like a good price.

looked at it the day it came out..listed for sale in San Diego, but spent it's whole life in...New Orleans. pass

The silver lining to the Porsche issue is that, like you acknowledged, they factory-issued replacement motors. Couple that with the reduced resale market value, and a lot of enthusiasts were able to grab a GT3 for track duty and/or money to spare for suspension upgrades or a stroker motor build.

Maybe something similar here where people can grab GXs + LXs on the cheap to do offroad builds and sink the spare cash into mods and just accept the motor as a risk (or do a built setup to obviate the issue)

Motor risk is mostly social media driven by tire kicking non-buyers and/or wannabees. Or Tundra bros.

In the real world there are no "motor discounts" being offered or affecting the value of the used LXs. And new GX550s are still selling like hot cakes at full MSRP, or more.

Agree. There are plenty in the wild with no issues. Below is a 2023 1794 with 277,443. Only repairs were the drivers side seat trim that is known to crack. Pretty impressive.

I don't know about that. LX600 and even LX700H are very cheap with very few miles. you can find 10k miles LX600 for sub $85k. LX700H with 4k miles for $100k. It is odd how firm the GX550 market is and the LX600 market is very bad depreciation. You should check it out. LX600 are cheaper than GX550. Same motor, Tundra's they can't give away.

I didn't fully believe this but you're not far off.

2025 LX700h Overtail with 8k miles going for $105,000.

Damn.

Not trying to turn this into a 300 pricing thread but new LXs are regularly going for below sticker. In some cases well below (5k+). Couple that with the increased availability of the 2 row (which is more desirable) and I think that's the reasoning for some of this. At least a lot more so than attributing it to the "motor troubles".

This.

The difference between the GX having super-ultra residuals, while the LX having normal/strong residuals is the availability. The price point of the GX makes it more sought after than the LX and Lexus (for some reason unknown to me) can't keep up with production of GXs, which inflates the prices of used ones. On the other hand, LXs are much more expensive and relatively readily available. Naturally this lowers the price of used LXs.

When I bought my OT, I only wanted the 2row and the only way of getting one was special order - not sure how it is right now, but I, for one, would never buy a used LX OT for $105k-$108k, if I can have a brand new one with zero miles (which I will make sure to correctly break in) for $115k. Mind you also that many of these pre-owned "cheap" LXs in lots were demo and press cars, which were ridden HARD to say the least. So, why risk it for a $10k-$15k savings on a six-figure purchase?

Again, absolutely nothing of this is linked to "engine issues" way blown out of proportion by social media channels (and don't forget other brand's bots).

It’s absolutely a matter of supply/demand when it comes to the GX and LX. Once GX supply catches up they are going to depreciate. It’s pretty easy to get an LX right now.

As for 200’s, this one actually closed for a relative bargain if you ask me.

I was tied up on a work call during those last 15 minutes but would have been tempted with it still being under $100k. 🙈

If I understood the comments right, the winner of the auction previously owned that same truck and sold it at BAT to a guy that sold to another guy, which was the seller at this auction.

What in the world is going on? People are just playing merry-go-round with HE LCs?? 😅

BAT never disappoints!
