Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

The number of $500 bids within the last two minutes extending this one, definitely some cheap / value oriented buyers out there! If this goes for $40K or less, I think it is a very good signal market is correcting.
Currently only two value oriented buyers out there...

And sold for $39k.

I think there's a growing separation in production cycles. Those pre refresh 200s are starting to look real dated visually.

Seems more likely that the market just isn't there with that 6k mile Heritage not getting above $85k. Yes, there was very minor surface rust, but that doesn't really account for that low of a final bid in my eyes. As much as most of us here don't want to admit it, there's a reason Mr. T stopped selling the LC in the states - the buyer pool just isn't that big. Seems like most the people that wanted a 200 have one, and the rest have either moved on or are waiting until prices drop significantly.

Pops is still in market for 21 HE as long as mileage is very low and front seat wear isn’t noticeable…seems that last one is non-negotiable as he’s never balked at price, but always comments on the seat wear…

$39k. Recent BaT listings have been trending down. Love to see it!
Yes, this seems like a good sign for buyers. New LC250 news tamping down slightly on the pre facelift 2015 and earlier models. Sorry to the sellers of course, and these will never be bargain purchases, but this one did not seem to get the BaT bump that I expected, I was thinking $45K. Went on BaT cheaper than listed price, started at $45K and say for a few weeks before settling down a few $K. It may also be anything 100K plus will drop, while less than that impacted less.

It is a weird market, I have been trying to sell my 2017 at what I thought was a good price and it looks like my best option is going to be to pull the extras off it and sell it to a dealer. Its funny when your looking to buy they seem to sell when your selling no one seems to be looking for what you have.

Just for benefit of the thread the dealer has offered me $55k and its a 2017 with 83k miles and said the suspension, rear draws, roof rack, rear bar etc added nothing so I was welcome to keep them as long as I put the factory stuff back on and got the new factory rear bar colour matched. Seems stupid but oh well.

If Bat that has been yeilding premium is trending down, wonder what is happening with rest of the market. There was a large dip in March of this year on used car prices, but then rebounded, looks like it may be trending down again. Looking at the chart below, increase in used prices has been stupid high from 2020, with WSJ coming out with articles that used car prices might be unsustainable, discounts on new cars coming back, and major dealership chains saying they will be concentrating on repair and service side of the business for profit, who knows where the used car prices will go from here.

For what it's worth, I think your truck is priced fairly. As a 200 series shopper, I would be interested in it if it was slightly lower mileage and with less pin stripes at your original ask. The only other issue with your truck is that I think black is the least preferred color and most available on the used market.

If I could get rid of my current 200k mile '10 quickly, I'd be interested in yours as a replacement. Just doubt I can move it quickly without bargain bin pricing these days, even though its Amazon Green...

Did you end up getting it titled in your name or is it still titled and registered under the previous owner?

Here are three HE sales on BAT within the last three months that counter your thesis:

Yeah, I don't think there's a line forming top drop 80+ grrrr on trucks with rust. Any. rust. The top end prices are still healthy on the wholesale side for late model 200s.

Yea, not really. The most recent one has $25k+ worth of tasteful and reversible mods (and I think in a rare color, although I'm not super familiar with the color breakdown for the HEs). The one from July is still lower than I'd expect, but I haven't been paying a ton of attention to prices recently. The last one is from 3 months ago, not today, so I'd take that one with a grain of salt but if you think it's thesis countering then I'll agree to disagree.

Also, my thesis was that prices are in decline due to a limited and saturated buyer pool, not dropping like a stone, and 2/3 of those trucks are less than comparable sales when I looked last 6-12 months ago.

A line forming? No. However, I have a hard time imagining there weren't at least a handful of people in northern states watching that one and scoffing at people even commenting on that amount of rust. Either way, it affects me zero and I'm just as happy being wrong about it as being right.

It doesn't have any real pin stripping that wouldn't buff out, but yeah I hear you on black.

Current tags are good till 2024 and if I transfer it will be into my Montana Company to save dropping $3k plus on CA Tax on a vehicle I will largely use out of state. As per the listing I am happy to provide CA Smog to anyone who wants to register it here so with current tags and clean title transfer is just a AAA and some CA Tax $$$.

It is what it is, luckily it is an awesome truck without issues so not looking to fire sale it I just found it interesting for all the talk around 200 series trucks that that Dealer was the best offer and he was happy to take it stock at more than some "Cruiser" people were offering with bolt on's.

At then end of the day like a lot of car junkies I have to many vehicles so have listed a few and will keep what doesn't sell as an indication of keeping what the car gods wanted me to have :) 1st world problems lol . Non Cruiser stuff is still selling well my Brat just left so that makes 1/2 a parking spot for a cruiser ...

That actually seems like a pretty fair trade in price, since there are at least a few sitting at dealers that are asking around that price. Granted these are likely not as clean, but most dealers are just trying to flip cars rather than find the perfect rust free one and waiting for a buyer to pay top dollar.

Mods can add a lot of value, but the increase in price and desirability to pay for them is a really small market. It is just all about how patient people are and willing to hold something. I ballparks mods are worth 25-50% of the part price, with no labor costs. Resale just really really hard since a lot of people that wanted a modded LC also want to do the build their "own" way even if it is 95% identical to yours. "Pride" in the self build or whatever.
