It's not an article per se. But a couple of different threads over Club Lexus. There's a guy over there that goes by the name Carmaker1 who has a couple of busy bees within Toyota/Lexus that occasionally share info with him. The guy has been pretty spot on with everything he has shared if you take the time to go back and look at his post history. Anyway... here are links to the most recent threads I was referring to.

Great info in these threads, thank you. The back end of that new GX though, barf.
Curious how they market a new "Land Cruiser" for the NA market, especially if it's designed as a Wrangler/Bronco competitor. Renderings look like they just took the current Bronco and added the FJ Cruiser front to it.
Given the popularity of RTTs, etc with the overlanding crowd and everyone else, a "modernized 70 series" as is mentioned in these threads would also be interesting to see.
Ya, if those renders end up being the real deal I am kind of meh on it. I asked the sales guy I have been talking to at Sewell for the last 9 months about it the other day (he probably hates me by now for not buying anything
) and he also said it's full of screens inside. 
I like some tech in cars but am seriously over the whole "stick a tablet on the dash and a screen here, screen there trend. Such lazy design and it makes every car/truck look the same on the inside. Nothing unique to set it apart...
This would be fantastic news but I don't see how it's possible. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the new hyrbid 4 Tacoma comes in at around 18 city/22 hwy. 4Runner being boxier and heavier with the same engine 1-2 MPG less than that. Still a much needed improvement over the 5th gen which gets 200 Series type of mileage. Or at least I do with all of my stop and go city driving. ( I average 14mpg on 285/65/17's)
It’s a hybrid 4 cylinder or hybrid turbo 4 cylinder so yes. That’s what they’re projecting for the new Taco
If my 2021 Sienna AWD can hit low 30s easily with a 4 cylinder hybrid, and the new Toyota Grand Highlander can too, I don’t see why a stock 4Runner wouldn’t be able to manage low to mid 20s. Hybrids excel at city stop and go driving.
The battery pack is supposed to be nearly 2.5x the size of the unibody hybrids too.
It maybe a 2025 model but I’m basing it off the new Tacoma powertrain
Alright, I’m moving forward with this one. Truck looks super clean and I’m satisfied with the numbers. It’s in Illinois but I won’t be able to go pick it up for another two weeks due to the dealers policy on out of state checks (they hold them for 10 days).Working a deal right now for a 2020 HE with 17k miles on it. Dealer was asking $92,500 but agreed to come down to $90k since it has some clown wheels on it right now. Truck looks clean but I am waiting for more thorough photos, videos, and an inspection. You guys cross your fingers for me that no unexpected surprises pop up. This may be the one.
My emotions have been all over the place. Initial excitement followed by nervous, crippling anxiety. In part because the last Cruiser I was going to buy ended up not being the cream puff I thought it was, thankfully never funded and was a local deal so not much in the way of time and money lost. This time I am driving 12 hours each way so just hoping for no “gotcha’s” once I get there on their vehicle or my trade.
I know it’s going to be a huge upgrade from my 4Runner with the exception of no CarPlay but with it being the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased I just hope I made a good decision. Big purchases freak me out in general… I was in full blown panic mode taking out the mortgage my townhome last year
but have since comfortably settled in. I’ve lusted for a LC for the last couple of years now so I figure I’m either going to A.) Drive it for many years to come. Or B.) Drive it for the next year or two and see how the new stuff from Toyo/Lex shakes out. Either way I need to at least taste the kool aid. I blame @Tex68w and his reply to me the other day for all of this.
2020 with 17k miles. AZ owned truck with a few recent months spent in Illinois. Pretty much stock with the exception of those goofy wheels. Previous owner also added Bilsteins (6112’s I believe from the under body photos I received) and the running boards. $90,000. I have OEM HE wheels on order!

Congrats! I assure you, aside from the lack of Carplay, you will love this truck. I don't recall exactly what I said that might have pushed you over the edge but I am glad to hear that it resulted in your purchase of a 200 and a HE at that. With the slight lift installed it already has a great stance, just change those awful wheels and you will have a very clean Cruiser. I can't speak to the others, but without the 300 making it to our shores, there's likely nothing that Toyota will come out with that will force me to sell my 200, it's a long term rig in my quiver.

Well I stand behind that comment lol. Excited to see what you do with it once you get it home.
Probably market rate for trade ins pricing, dealers always take a big haircut and are fairly consistent nationally if it is a big dealership. Market for 100K plus miles LC is slower, but dealer more than willing to let it wait until they can sell at 40K right before the winter.
Thoughts on 2013 with 165k for $32k?
Looking to sell my ‘21 Tahoe and come out note free. Split between an older LC or a newer GX. Both will be a downgrade size- and technology-wise . Been down this road 2-3x before and decided against selling. Maybe I’m for real now who knows

In my recent experience it really just depends on your knowledge of value and the particular dealer you are working with.
Using my 4R as an example I had a dealer in California offer me $52k, a dealer in Vegas $45k (eventually came up to $47k), and the dealer I am buying my 200 from in Illinois came in at $48k first offer.
I think you will have a similar experience with your LC if you shop around. This one is tough but see if you can find someone willing to pull Manheim (MRR) for you. That will give you an idea of what it’s truly worth to a dealership.
Tires will likely not impact trading into a dealer, but maybe to private buyer. Definitely shop around dealers as you might be able to pick up an $1000 or $2000.
That being said, I would say this is in the realistic $37K-$41K range to sell within a week or two, with $43K being insanely clean but sitting and waiting for the right buyer and having to be really patient. Could go higher as well, as a 2013 with 100K just sold on Bring a trailer for $52K (however that will probably be 6-8 weeks out and if it is not super clean, will not reach anywhere near that). But if you need to get rid of it, you can def get some more on top of the dealer trade in of $32K.

I had trade ins on my ISF vary from $17K to $23K, so totally get that (and selling privately even higher). Your4Runner is way newer and much higher volume, so they are quicker to move off the lot. Plus not many dealers / banks are offering prime rates on 10 year old cars, so I think the trade ins on LCs is a bit rougher. Some of the smaller shops might recognize potential and offer more (esp. those in snow country) but the big corps are going to be offering whatever their market report says (e.g., Manheim).
Value wise BaT > CaB > Private Party > Trade In, although depending on level of effort Private Party could be near a dealer trade in if you can find the right dealer willing to move.
I would say fair to good price. I see most of the 2013s listed at $30K sitting with 200K miles on the odometer. However, regional dependent and depends who is buying.
