Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

I have been looking at LCs and LXs since the start of the year. I had test drove a 2013 with 184k miles on it many times and it sold when I was hesitant due to high mileage. It sold for $29,500. It was a rust belt with mostly surface rust.

Since then I have been eyeing lower mileage due to concern of spending $30k on a high mileage truck. I know the cruiser history but when talking stats like we have in the other thread @AnyMal started I'm not sure about taking the high mileage plunge...

If you find a deal then its a deal you know. But competing over a 10 year old truck just doesn't make sense to me...

My honest to god advice is just buy one of the newer LXs (or LC if even possible but doubt) off lease while you still can and they are also under a warranty that can be extended for an additional 5 years. Not that I even believe in warranties, but most people do.

I hate buying used, but at this price point and for this vehicle its a huge exception to the rule. Plus not like a 600 is even remotely worth the money...

As an FYI, I was recently considering two private seller LX570s but unable to see them before they sold. A 2013 with 181k miles in WI went for $23,500 and a 2014 in IA with 164k miles went for $25k. A bit frustrated I didn't get a chance to meet up to see either before they sold.
Definitely some good deals to be had in the LX 570s, though the 2013 less of a perk in the LX vs LC since you could get most of the fancier 2013 LC std features added in earlier LXs (with potential exception of the heated steering wheel, which is high on my needs list).

Prices you stated are dang near prices (or even less than) for equivalent 08/09 cruisers.

As much as I would like to be able to consider this option, it would require a much bigger car budget. I am in your warranty camp, I have probably been able to use a warranty 5 times or less in the 36ish years I have owned cars/trucks.

Another decision factor is around how much to spend on something that will not be driven very often due to my current employment working from home. As my neighbor said, a LC or LX would be expensive driveway jewelry. 😀

Another option was just introduced for the super sweet 2015 Kia Sedona van that decided to develop a happy knock between oil changes last fall at 140k miles. We were quoted $13k to replace the engine originally with a used engine. It's what brought me online for the LC/LX van replacement search... Last week a mechanic quoted $8800 for a brand new factory kia engine installed. The rest of the van is in good overall condition. Carvana and others offer $4k or less to buy it.

Trying to make a wise financial decision and weighing all the options.

I would say in a 200 at the moment, $30-40k (tops) will buy you about 10 years of truck on average.
I know financing is a bad idea right now and im not sure if you can swing cash, but thats about $300/month interest not included.

If you can buy something for that range new, or otherwise lightly used, you will probably be able to get 10 out of it as well if you dont get an x5 or RR...
I am not going to be the one to tell you a 10 year old cruiser (feels like 20 years old) is the right move.
But it helps to look at ownership term average monthly cost in that light. Plus consider all the fuel, it adds the F up. Specially premium for LX.
I don't mind since i dont daily mine either and we are at home too.

This thing will be parked most of the time coming soon and im just going to road trip it and camp etc. *someday*
I just wanted to own and build the last V8 cruiser and keep it for a long time. Just so happens its been our only ride for a while. currently @ 76k miles.
Hope that helps you think.

Some credit unions have some decent rate options, even for 10+ year old cars if you have good credit. That is the only reason I am even considering these older options in this insane market.

Maybe I can just steal one like this listing 🤣

Buy it! Unless it came from rust belt.

I could still be wooed into this one if it is legit for sale, but just got an odd vibe. Or maybe I just need to practice my spanish and dive in with that...
Well I went and checked this one out a few minutes ago (actually typing this from their parking lot)

I would run, not walk from this one. It’s pretty rusty underneath and up close inside and out it’s in rough shape for my standards. Honestly everything on their lot looks like this. Thankful I don’t have to resort to these types of places for transportation.

Any pictures? I went to see a 08 red 210K miles 28K, first thing I did was to look under: Rear brake dust shield is completely GONE! They asked me to do a test drive and I politely said no thank you.

I didn’t bother to take any. The lot was pretty crowded and dirty. Oh and I’m wearing light gray pants today. Didn’t want to get them dirty 😂

Thanks for the update. This is interesting as the 2013 land cruiser I was looking at in Chicagoland with 184k miles was from LUX Motors as well and it was in amazing condition for the mileage. I was wondering if this one at Autocasa in Dallas may have been in the same level of condition since LUX was a prior owner of it as well.

I have never pulled the carfax to see where it has lived, and Autocasa has never sent it to me as they had said they would multiple times. It seemed like an interesting dealership from the Google maps street view and satellite of the address. Seems like they mostly sell more industrial type vehicles.

Thanks so much for the intel! Infinity internet points to you for your good stewardship.

As good a place as any for my first post I guess. Picking up my new-to-me 2013 LX in the morning. Silver/Parchment, one owner, 35K miles, dealer serviced every 5K miles. Traded in to the original selling dealer on a new LX 600. $41K plus tax.
Would really like to see pictures of that steal!

Given the one in Arkansas on the LC200 for sale foruem with 31K miles is listed at $55K, this is a really good deal.

Less miles than my cpo (42k) lol.
