I apologize in advance because I know I've asked you this a few times before. What's you're average MPG and what are your cruising EGT numbers ranging between?
Mike

20-22mpg and what cruising speeds (specifically) do you want to know about? She hasn't been on the highway since the D60 swap because I still don't have shocks

20 22 is impressive. I managed to get 22 once. I average 17mpg in mixed driving, so i need to suck it up free up a weekend and regear. I was asking when you're doing between 60 - 70 mph what's the typical EGT you see on a flat surface.

I'm at 23ish with the double OD, 4.56s on 35s.. Can't wait to see what happens with 4.11s and 37s.. On flat land at 6200' elevation 800-1000F and in the mountains I see 1200-1400F often, but only for a very short time. I'm ok with 1200 sustained, but pucker up about numbers higher than that for very long.

I'm interested in the EGTs with the new (BEHEMOTH SPOOLER) too Johnny.

Johnny-Mike what is your water temp running? I'm around 220-230F without fan and 180-200F with fan.

I'm at 190* with fan. Hot days with ac about 200*. J I sent you another pm, if you didn't get it I'll call you tomorrow.

M, I responded back.. Seems we have a LAG in the software since last night with PMs and edits.. I have training all day tomorrow, so I'll give you a shout late tomorrow in case the FORUM GODS don't get our mail transmitted.. HA!

I need to put shocks on this beast before I can give y'all some good numbers regarding EGT at 60-70mph. Moonshine is geared to shine at about 70, IMO.

The turbo made difference in power and EGTs (more and lower), but it looks like the timing adjustment I did yesterday had an even more drastic effect on the EGT specifically, lowering it. Need to drive more to give an accurate report.

Also, I haven't put a full tank through with this new turbo that didn't include some abnormal activity, like towing lots of weight. The fuel gauge seems to reflect similar consumption, but I'll need a couple of tanks (month or two) to confirm that fuel consumption is the same as before.

Finally I have something substantial to update. Got the ford shock towers cut off and hoops welded on last weekend. Took yesterday and today off to get some work done on the front end (regear) in preparation for CMCC in a couple of weeks. It rained hard last night and is raining again now so progress has stopped :frown: Hopefully the rain will let up so I can continue.

I also picked up a set of wheeling tires!!! 39.5" TSLs that are a bit worn, but grooved in the middle, with rims, for $400! Very happy about that.

Thats a killer deal on those tires. I just got back from kauffman tire ordering mine... so expensive :bang:
Anyway, one of the ga cruiser members had that tire and he liked it a lot.

The insane initial cost of big tires is exactly why I've run nothing but used tires, except for the first set of 33x10.50 BFGs, since I've had Moonshine.

You have mad skills. Seriously.

Thanks everyone! I love the color of those wheels. Guy told me that someone pranked him by painting the rims with pink plasti-dip. Funny coincidence that I have pink plasti-dip diff covers :D

Those shock hoops look mighty similar to mine. Great work BTW! Looking good.

Shock hoops are the way to go man :D I love them.

Huge tires... me likey!

Which shocks are you going with Johnny? Lots of good work going on here... Hell, I just finished cleaning out the shop to get started on fab and whatnot.. I feel like a slacker now after catching up on Moonshine.

Bilstein 5125s are what I've got. If memory serves, they're 14", can't remember the valving.

Assembling this differential is a pain in the ass. Next time I'll buy / make a case spreader. Got her back together and gave the diff cover my signature touch. New calipers to compliment the new angle on the brake lines, with speed bleeders, of course.

Finally, the obligatory auto parts store shot, after returning the old calipers as cores.

This is what happens when you're fully addicted to land cruisers. Random parts start showing up at your door.

(completely unrelated to moonshine - it's for a buddy's FJ60)
