Wow, good thread here! I tend to ignore long threads but just went through the whole thing. Lots of good info and pics, nice build. I particularly like the new front bumper, very nice!

Thank you very much Chris! Because of this truck, I am always broke, but that's how it goes.

Now about those sliding rear windows:hhmm:

Wow, you wear an awful lot of socks.

Good build, cant wait for my SOA to be done.

It was a brand new bag of socks, sitting on the passenger floor board. When I drove into that lake, they floated in the water that was in the cab, then floated into the lake itself when I opened the door. They soaked up all kinds of mud and water. Afterwards, I insisted that they were clean, but Sheri didn't agree

Grrr

Broke is one thing, buying something twice is doubly broke. :frown:

My son-in-law's brother owns a body shop and I just handed the latest pair over to him. He should have then installed for me this week so until then I really have no idea about the whole epoxy install. When I laid the latest pair on him he was pretty surprised by the butyl still stuck all over. This guy does incredible work so I'm sure it will be done right and I'll be happy to share whatever I learn.

I hate buying things twice, or doing the same job twice for that matter. I'll try to figure it out myself, but anything you find out will be greatly appreciated.

Ahaha now thats funny! :lol::lol:

I've done two things since being back from the trip. I installed the CO2 tank + regulator I got from Kenny. Next up for that is I have to plumb an air line to the front and make myself an octopus to make airing down / filling tires up easy. I'll explain as I go.

Taillight looks somewhat legal?....

On board air will help since the only weak spot on this truck during CMCC was the freaking tires pissing air all weekend. I have never seen anything like it. Wheeling over rocks...sounding like running over mice. :)

Tail light is questionable, but they don't have safety inspections in KY so I don't care right now. No white light gets out so I think it's ok :hillbilly:

It took me forever before I figured out that squeaking noise was air leaking out of the tires,. Weirdest noise ever. The CO2 will definitely help with that, but beadlocks would be better.

Had a fan-freaking-tastic day today. Locked my keys in the truck this morning at work:doh: Had AAA come break into it for me. Got home, ready to rip my carpet out, and locked the keys in the truck again :bang::bang: Not wanting to use another AAA freebie for the year due to my stupidity, I walked around the rig trying to figure out how to get in. A neighbor and I tried to use a clothes hanger to no avail and I ripped off my driver's door handle ( it was broken anyway ), but there is a plastic tube surrounding the door lock so you can't pull up on it :bang: Walked around the garage a bit to look for some type of tool ( all of mine are locked in the truck at this point ) and found a box cutter as well as a flat head screw driver. Decided that the best way to get in was to cut out the gasket around one of the rear windows to remove the glass to climb in. It worked but sacrificed the gasket entirely, hence the recent posts regarding the sliding rear windows.

Tools required to break into a 60 when you don't have any tools: box cutter and a flathead screw driver. Open hole and window duct-taped back in using the back half of the gasket.

Real men drive cruiser....with pink on them!....Wait...

Looks like someone needs to go to his local hardware store and get some keys made ;)
Same thing happened to me earlier this year, locked my keys in my truck at some parking lot, had to leave it overnight, that night, it snows, alot. No 4x4 to get to school, not a fun day. Murphy's Law kicked my ass

No no no, took the truck for a swim ( see 3 pic sequence on previous page ) and the new bag of socks got wet from the foot of water that was in the cab.

You read my mind  I got told twice yesterday morning that I should have another key made. Of course I go home before doing that and lock the keys in again.

Nice duct tape bud :hillbilly:!

How did the tires work out?

Tires were beautiful aside from squeaking air out. Even lost a bead one day and got the tire all wrapped up around the rim, straightened it out and aired it back up. I love them enough that I canceled my purchase plans for a set of BFG's ( sorry Tony!! ) to run these until they're bald. Well that and I have no money:o

Just when I thought I was done spending money on this for the summer, found this. Definitely not safe.

Thank you very much sir! Shouldn't be more than some metal and a good 'ol arc welder can't fix.

On another note, some dick stole my carpets ( thank god ) and I found..............wait for it..................more rot! The hole in the driver's floorboard literally flings water on my left pant leg when it rains.
