Thanks man! Hey I've got a question for you. When you wheel with your 15x10" rims, what PSI do you run in your tires? You've got 35x10.50" tires right?

Im running 35x12.5 BFG MT's, and when Im on the rocks, ill run at 16-18 PSI. My Stauns are set for 18 (which is apporximate for the most part) and Ill adjust PRN.
I will get some air seepage from the bead in extreme angles FYI.

BTW...IH8MUD!:D

Looks like you have some fun terrain back east there.

Man...you had me all excited there was a new nud hole near Albany...I could be persuaded to drink some beer...in fact I spent more on beer last month than I did on the cruiser...and I spend $500 on the cruiser...damn micro brews and their tasty hops....can't wait to see your truck when you get back...I've got a couple neat projects going on that will get thier own build thread soon...you're sure to like them...

Pfft, you've got Stauns. I wish I had the dough, although I am looking at a set of these: Inner Air Locks

The available wheeling terrain is sparse, so I'm glad to have something. I much prefer rocks. Some day I'll get out west to wheel with you guys.

 I hate mud sooooo much. We needed to get offroad, so this did the trick. Way too expensive at $12 for half a day so I doubt we'll be going back there.

What do you have up your sleeve? You've gotta let us know.

How the hell have you spent that much on beer?? Must have been good s***. What are the better northeast microbrews?

Don't get me started talking about beer...I'll kill your build thread...at the height of my collectiing days I had 20 cases in my basement worth about $4000. Dogfish Head is one of my favorites out of Deleware...if you want to talk more I'll take it to the chit chat section to keep your build thread clean..

$200 a case?!? Go start a thread in chat.

Buying stuff for this damn truck is a complete and utter addiction. Was dicking around on the internet the other day when I stumbled upon someone who had H1 double beadlocks on their fullsize domestic pickup. They were going on and on about how great they were and what modifications they had to do to get them to work, etc. Well I was searching around google for more info on them and one of the first search results that came up was a set of "8 military tires and 4 wheels." Of course I clicked on it and it was a set of H1 12 bolt, double beadlocks with two sets of 37" radial military tires. The whole shebang came off of Humvees built after 1990 ( I think ).

I then realized that me_tu05 on the forum has a set of these on their 60, so I sent him a pm to ask him about what he did to his to get them to work. Long story short, it started to look like I could get double beadlocks for my 60 in whatever backspace I wanted for about $125 a wheel, depending on the price I could negotiate with the seller.

Went to go see them yesterday, tires were pretty bald but the rims were real nice. He originally wanted $400 for the 8 tires and rims, so I offered him $150 for the rims, he said no, I said $200, he said yes. Now all I have to do is recenter them and I've got myself some double beadlocks!!

Great deal.

PBB vendors sell the tires for $75 a pop @ 95% tread.

Shipping for four is around $100.

Killer dealio

Thanks for the tip man! I'm going to have to look up whether or not it's legal for me to run beadlocks on the street, and whether or not they'll balance.

Question, I was looking at pressed centers on PBB and they all seem to be set at 3.5" b.s. Does anyone make drop-in pressed centers at say 2.5" backspacing? I really like the wider stance that the 2.5" gives the truck.

I got the pressed centers on the way and am planning on setting them up with less than 3.5" backspacing if they clear my brake setup. I think it can be done and have a couple ideas to play with to see. If you've got flat surfaces it shouldn't be that hard.

I've been reading up on pirate about re-centering and how to get them true. I agree that it doesn't seem too hard.

I'd like to run some flat centers, because I think they look better, but I don't think they'll clear the calipers.

I am @ 4" backspacing on the beadlocks I run and have no issues with rub, only on the leafs @ full turn left or right

Good info. 37x12.5's right?

I like the looks and designs of the flats better than the pressed too but like the better support the pressed gives in side loading the rim. I also had an accomplished wheeler friend tell me the flats tend to have their lug nuts loosen up.

Hmmmm, good call. Wouldn't be too much of a problem for a non-dd set of rims.

There is a vendor on pirate that sells pressed centers that are flats he presses into a dish shape instead of the press making the shape of the whole rim. I may look there, but I want to see how yours come out.

I know you already bought your rock rings, but blue torch fab sells them and they look pretty sweet.

I really liked the look of the half rings so that's what I ordered. I think they'll look alright with the Mod style centers. There sure are tons of options and combos that could be set up with all the styles available. Now I'm just trying to think about what colors to run. Thinking maybe some kind of white and silver to tie into the theme on the rig.

Balls, lost my long winded post. My e-brake doesn't work. Does anyone have a picture of the bracket they made for their SOA 60 I can look at? I want to make sure I did mine correctly.

Put the rear end up on jackstands to see what was up with the e-brake. It turns out that the cable is sticking inside the sheathing. I almost seems like it is too short now that the truck is SOA. I know that it's the cable because after I manually adjusted the drums and pull on the cable, the e-brake is solid and can definitely hold the truck. However when I release the handle, the cable does not retract unless I force it with my hand.

I'm thinking I need a new e-brake cable, but can I salvage my existing cable? Can you open up the top of the cable and shoot some wd40 in there or something? If I do end up needing a new cable, should I seek out a longer one?

Personally, Id try shooting some type of lube down there FIRST and see if you cant get it to free.
I cant imagine why itd would be too short though?????

Weird

Can you open the cable up from the top to put fluid in?

It may not be too short. I was thinking if that were the case then it might not function properly, basically just throwing ideas out there.

If I can open it up and put lubricant in there, that would be sweet.
